BACK TO BACK NAPS FOR SHAMROCK: After NAPPING an 11/4 WINNER on Friday, SHAMROCK had a succesful NAP LAY on Saturday with Even Song who was a big flop in the Irish Oaks.

Not a bad 24 hours for followers of the SHAMROCK. On Friday night the nap Wilms Warrior won the final race at Kilbeggan at 11/4 (only bet of the day) and on Saturday there was just one bet too. A big race LAY of Even Song in the Irish Oaks who could only finish seventh at 4/5.

Another big day of flat action at the Curragh with two competitive Group 2 races on the card and there’s also a jumps card from Tipperary.

In the Friarstown Stud Minstrel Stakes over seven furlongs at 3.05pm last year’s ‘winner’ Gordon Lord Byron is back for more. He was subsequently awarded the race last year when Home Of The Brave was found to have had a banned substance in a sample. ‘GLB’ has been a great servant over the years picking up three Group 1’s but at this stage of his career a Group 2 might be beyond him.

The BETDAQ market is struggling to sort out a favourite and any one of six horses could go off market leader in what is just a nine horse race – it’s that competitive!

The William Haggas raider Adaay has become a little disappointing. Especially so at Haydock when beating only one home in a Group 3 over today’s trip and similar ground. Cheekpieces went on for the first time at Newmarket last time and he was only just pipped on heavy ground in another Group 3 but I want to look elsewhere.

Dick Whittington might be the safest bet. He is a former Group 1 winner who looked close to his best when winning a Group 3 at Leopardstown last time out over today’s trip
