SHAMROCK STICKS WITH PINK: Irish racing is back after a hiatus this week. SHAMROCK bids to strike a blow early with a nap in the opener at 12.45pm.

Pink Hat is going to be a short price for the opener at Clonmel (around 1.67 on BETDAQ at the time of writing) but won’t be as short as the Willie Mullins trained winner of the race last year Glens Melody who was sent off at 1/8 !!

It’s pretty hard to oppose Pink Hat on her hurdling debut. She has won both her bumpers in good style at Kilbeggan and Wexford, both wins came on good ground but there’s no reason to think that the good to yielding will present any problems.

Many of her rivals today are already starting to look a little exposed but Fairy Funny does at least look to be going the right way and she was a creditable third to another Mullins winner Shesafoxylady at Punchestown in her latest race.

In the beginners chase at 2.15 the Mullins runner here Kalmann might be worth opposing at around 2.16. There are two serious rivals in Golanbrook and Worldor both of whom already have experience of jumping the larger obstacles, unlike the favourite.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Pink Hat (12.45 Clonmel)
LAY: Kalmann (2.15 Clonmel)
