TWO NAPS OUT OF TWO: SHAMROCK is 2 from 2 with his NAPS at Killarney this week. Tuesday: Aimhirgin Lass (NAP) WON 2/1 and Wednesday: Knocknanuss (NAP) WON 4/6.
My nap yesterday, Knocknanuss, made all the running to win the concluding bumper in grand style.
Killarney continues this afternoon and there is an evening card at Leopardstown.
I’m heading to Leopardstown in search of a THIRD WINNING NAP in a row.
Feature race is the Meld Stakes (Group 3) at 8pm. Despite a field of just six it looks very competitive. Dermot Weld won this three times in a row with Famous Name and he has a solid chance this year with Carla Bianca, although the filly has been beaten at 4/5 and evens in her last two starts. She was a Group 3 winner last year but I think she looks a little short in the BETDAQ market for this at around 2.5 and I am pressing the lay button.
Weld should land the Racecourse Of The Year Maiden at 6.55pm with Griko who built on a promising debut at Dundalk to finish strongly at Fairyhouse last time when a close third to Frozen Lake. This looks an easier task.
