2/2 NAPS THIS WEEK: SHAMROCK landed his second winning nap of the week with Tamadhor (NAP) WON 9/10 at Fairyhouse last night. With a NR on Tuesday he is now 2/2 this week.
Tamadhor (also the banker nap from colleague DAQMAN) won well last night at Fairyhouse winning by two lengths. She was chased home by last year’s winner Slipper Orchid with Geoffrey Chaucer continuing to disappoint back in third.
Irish racing tonight from Leopardstown with their seven race card getting underway at 6pm.
The feature race on the card is the Copper Face Jacks Glencairn Stakes – a Listed event over a mile at 7.30pm.
War Envoy is on a recovery mission having got bogged down on soft ground in his last couple of starts but he only has one career win to his name – on debut at Naas.
The Ger Lyons trained Brendan Brackan is another who should appreciate the faster ground and might run better here – his last two runs were bitterly disappointing but they came at Group level and at Listed level he is still quite a force.
The safest bet is probably My Titania who is a Group 3 winner and should find conditions ideal. The John Oxx trained runner has been off the course since last July but has run well after a break before (fourth in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot) and at any where near her best should outclass these en route to bigger prizes this season.
Oxx said: “She’s done well from three to four and she’s working well. She finished fourth in the Coronation Stakes last year, which was a good run, but she’s still an unproven filly. She has a wide spectrum of entries, but we’ll see how she goes on her first run before we make plans for her. I think there’s still plenty to learn about her.”
