TRAMORE ON THURSDAY: SHAMROCK heads jumping to Tramore on Thursday for their seven race card which gets underway at 2.15 on expected good ground.

The penny seemed to drop for Vermout Fougeray at Galway last time out when he ran by far his best race so far when second to Whiskey No Ice in a maiden hurdle. He was only over-hauled close home and would probably have won it if not for a bad mistake at the second last. He was also quite popular in the market that day so a good run had been expected.

Although it didn’t look the strongest contest the third placed Iffjack has gone on to finish second (in a chase) at Perth.

Way Wild West has twice disappointed at shortish odds and although third of seven at Listowel last time out – he was beaten 25 lengths and now tries better ground for the first time.

A bigger danger to the selection in the Tramore opener might come from Conduct Yourself who has been running well enough in mares maiden hurdle races and she is out again quickly having finished third to Dragon Fei at Tipperary on Tuesday.
