ALL CHANGE AT CLONMEL: Today’s card at Clonmel has survived – but only just. The two chase races have been abandoned on the card which in itself was rearranged.

Final fling before Christmas at Clonmel with heavy ground – too heavy for the two chase races on the card which have been scrapped.

It’s now a five race card 12.50 – 2.50.

Without doubt, the star attraction on the card is Vroum Vroum Mag in the mares hurdle at 1.20. The six-year-old is unbeaten since joining Willie Mullins but each of her six wins have come over fences including at Grade 2 and 3 level. She’s impossible to oppose in a deeply uncompetitive race but is priced accordingly. 1.12 on BETDAQ for the money ‘buyers’.

Willie Mullins short price favourites litter the reduced card and hopefully A Toi Phil can give me a winning nap pre-Christmas. He was second at Auteuil on debut in a race that has worked out very well. Some of Willie Mullins very best runners have been French exports and there must be every chance that A Toi Phil is well above average.

Around 1.71 on BETDAQ we’re not going to get too rich but it might cover the veg if not the turkey expenses!

TOMORROW: Will take a look at the Irish challenge in the King George at Kempton.
