SHAMROCK WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK started the week with a winning nap from his only bet of the day – Mount Colah (NAP) WON 9/10 in the big race at Thurles.

It was nice to get the naps back on track yesterday but I felt I had a double dose of good luck in the Thurles Racecourse Supporters Club Chase.

Firstly, Arnaud was very much still in contention before coming down two out and then the selection and nap Mount Colah made a dreadful error at the last – only just stayed on his feet and held on in a dramatic finish.

Meanwhile, Ruby Walsh has told Racing UK he is in no rush to make a decision on his Champion Hurdle ride. New kid on the block Faugheen or Hurricane Fly who has already won the race twice.

Walsh said: “It will be no tougher to decide between him than Kauto Star and Denman and I got that one wrong! The way I look at it, it is great to have two rides of that standard in a race. I’ll worry about it much closer to the time.”

He’s keeping his cards close to his chest but I’d be staggered if he doesn’t go the same way as the betting and opt for Faugheen.

No Irish racing today.
