JET’S ON COURSE FOR LADBROKES WORLD HURDLE: Jessica Harrington’s Jetson is set to head straight to the Cheltenham Festival.
The Jessica Harrington trained Jetson is unlikely to take in any more races before a crack at the Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
The ten-year-old caused a huge shock when beating Quevega in the Ladbrokes World Series Hurdle at Punchestown last May at 20/1 and has since gone on to finish second to Lieutenant Colonel in the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle at Fairyhouse and then second to the same rival (finishing a little closer) in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas.
Harrington said: “The only option between now and then over here is the Galmoy Hurdle and he’d have to carry a 7lb penalty in that for winning a Grade One. I think we’ll go straight for the World Hurdle. He’s run well there in the past and we know he likes the track.”
