NAVAN: SHAMROCK heads to Navan on Wednesday for his best bet of the day which comes in the two mile maiden at 3.10.
A close second with the nap yesterday. Will try and do better today.
Navan stage a seven race card – a dry day is forecast and the ground is good, yielding in places after 3mm of rain overnight.
Swamp Fox is now seven runs without a win but he has gone close on a couple of occasions and should be suited by the step up to two miles in the maiden at 3.10.
He has finished runner-up in his last two races at Galway and Listowel, beaten a neck and half a length respectively and on both occasions has been staying on well at the end over shorter trips. He was narrowly beaten by Robertstown last time out at Listowel but finished 13 lengths clear of the third placed runner.
