2:55 BETDAQTIPS.COM Handicap Chase: The race named after our site – and DAQMAN has challenged SHAMROCK to name the winner.

A BETDAQ sponsored card at Punchestown this afternoon and where better to start than the race named after our site !!!!

2:55 BETDAQTIPS.COM Handicap Chase

Even more reason to look at it, as DAQMAN has challenged me and DEMANDS that one of us finds the winner or heads will roll…..

Excuses in early but there are MUCH easier races on the card DAQMAN !!

Never one to shirk a challenge though, the play for me has to be win and place (four up for grabs) on Red River Gold.

Although he has yet to win over fences he is lightly raced and relishes the testing ground. He was half a length in front of Fitzhenry (DAQMAN’s pick today) at Naas last time out and on the SAME terms today Red River Gold is nearly three times the price which I can’t fathom.

Whatever the fate of the ‘challenge’, I am in complete agreement with DAQMAN that Paloma Blue looks the nap on the card in the opening BETDAQ Trading Tools Maiden Hurdle at 12.20pm.

The Henry de Bromhead trained runner should love the ground and will improve for his hurdling debut at Naas when third to Next Destination.

He was second in the Punchestown Champion Bumper last season won by the supremely talented but sadly missed Fayonagh.

Athenean won a three runner flat race at the last meeting here and I wasn’t sure that amounted to much. Thankfully he is in the race though as otherwise we would need to be taking long odds-on about Paloma Blue in a race where they are trading 20/1 bar the front two.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Paloma Blue (12.20 Punchestown)
WIN AND PLACE: Red River Gold (2.55 Punchestown)
