MATCH OVERVIEW:
The big IPL games keep coming on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week! Friday sees Lucknow Super Giants host Royal Challengers Bengaluru with Virat Kohli and RCB aiming to get back to the top of the table. We’ve definitely had two halves of the table this season, and the top two has been extremely competitive so getting into that top two for two chances at getting into the final will be very important. It’s hard to see Lucknow Super Giants making the playoffs – three losses in a row has left them three points off the top four. They just have to aim to win their final three games and see what happens.
RCB have been fantastic this season. As I said at the start of the tournament, they have changed their tactics off the pitch over the last few seasons and it’s been paying off. They are less focused on big star batting names that take up most of the salary budget and got some decent bowling. When you have a home ground that’s the highest scoring ground in the IPL; you don’t really need the best batters to hit sixes to be fair! However, their home conditions haven’t been as high scoring as usual this season either. They have waited so long for an IPL title and have such a big fanbase; maybe this is their year!
It’s been hard to fault RCB this season, and they come into this game with some great momentum too. Four wins in a row must have the confidence levels sky high, while it’s the opposite for Lucknow Super Giants. They need something to change about three heavy defeats.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
This is Lucknow’s second last home game as we enter the final days of the IPL this season. Scoring this season here has been quite even – it hasn’t been an exceptionally high scoring ground but it has been reliably good. The first inning scores have been; 171/7 (chased), 203/8 (won), 180/6 (chased), 166/7 (chased) and 159/6 (chased). I wouldn’t say that there’s a massive bias batting or bowling first here, but most sides like to chase these days so you’d expect the winning captain to do that.
RECOMMENDED BET:
Lucknow Super Giants have had three tough games and they’ve been easily beaten in them all. The bowling has been a major issues as they’ve conceded 236/5 and 215/7 in their last two games. Prior to that the batting came up short but I think overall their bowling has been the problem this season. RCB are in superb form at the moment – they have the stronger bowling but also they can take full advantage of the Lucknow bowling here too. They are a confident bet for me at 1.74.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Judging by the scores here, you’d have to expect a reasonably high scoring game – as I said above, it hasn’t been exceptionally high scoring but conditions have been good. 160/165 is probably going to be short here, so the side batting first has to be aiming for at least 190. The Lucknow bowling has been there for the taking coming into this game, and I’m happy to support the RCB batting in either innings – that’s where I see most market movement.
