PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews TOTTENHAM v NOTTINGHAM FOREST with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
TOTTENHAM v NOTTINGHAM FOREST
8pm We have Monday Night Football from the Premier League to start the week on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Spurs host Nottingham Forest in a massive game for Forest given the battle for a Top Four spot. They come into this game with back-to-back losses, and as everyone has been expecting, they finally dropped out of the Top Four after Manchester City beat Everton at the weekend. It was always a long shot that Forest would hang on, but I’m sure the squad really believed when they beat Manchester City, and followed that up with a win over Manchester United a couple of weeks later but maybe their performance levels are finally catching up to them.
As I’ve highlighted many times this season, Forest have been massively over-performing this season. They have an average xG conceded of 1.67 which is very high, that’s the fifth worst defensive figure in the Premier League but they’ve been getting away with it. Their actual goals conceded average is only 1.19. They have a mid-to-low attacking figure too, and they are also over-performing in front of goal as well. There’s no getting away from the fact that they are having an excellent season – confidence and momentum have been sky high – but there were always likely to come under pressure trying to hold onto that Top Four spot. The big question is now how they handle it.
Spurs go through to the Europa League Semi-Finals with a win away to Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday night, and with nothing to achieve in the Premier League, Forest will be hoping Ange Postecoglou decides to rest some players here. With that in mind, it might pay to keep an eye on the team news here, and it’ll be a case of fastest fingers first. We have an exceptionally open betting heat – both sides are the same price with Spurs and Forest both trading 2.7 while the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing. It’s easy to understand why we have such an open market as it’s hard to have confidence in either side to be honest.
Spurs just haven’t got over the line in enough games this season, the crowd have turned against Postecoglou and a mistake at the back never seems far away. Forest have obviously had an excellent season, but it’s hard to make the case for them on their performance levels. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market because this game screams goals given how poor both sides are at the back. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.69 and Both Teams To Score is ten ticks shorter at 1.59. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet, but the Overs looks the best value position and I’m happy with a confident bet to start the week.
