PREMIER LEAGUE: The Striker previews three games on Saturday all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LEICESTER V ARSENAL
12.30pm Another fascinating Premier League Saturday rolls around on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have a hectic day ahead with seven fixtures, and we kick it off with Leicester hosting Arsenal. It’s fair to say that most football fans will be expecting a comfortable win for Arsenal here, and they come into the game as the red-hot favourites. Arsenal are trading 1.32 with Leicester 11.5 and the draw is 6.0 at the time of writing. Leicester had the heartbreak of crashing out of the FA Cup last weekend; a faith Arsenal know too as Manchester United knocked them out in Round Three – Leicester were unlucky; Harry Maguire was miles offside for the winning goal. The way things have gone over the last few weeks, it looks like the three who came up from the Championship will go back down – Everton have definitely moved away and that win for Wolves over Aston Villa prior to the break for the FA Cup Fourth Round was massive. Leicester need something from somewhere; probably getting close to a miracle now! Leicester have the third worst attacking figure this season, and the third worst defensive figure – they can’t complain about sitting in 18th!
Arsenal got to have a little break given they were out of the FA Cup and didn’t need to play in the Champions League knockouts. It’s very hard to see past a win here for Arsenal – obviously at 1.32 we’re going to have to look around the side markets but I would have no issue including Arsenal in any weekend Acca! For me this game is going to be about how many goals can Arsenal score, and given Leicester have been very sloppy at the back, I can see Arsenal covering the handicap here. Leicester have an average xG conceded of 1.79 this season and they have been conceding over that too – only Southampton have conceded more goals. Arsenal are 1.93 -1.5 goals and that looks a cracking bet to start the weekend – I know Arteta has been criticised for being a little negative going forward this season, but you just know they are going to get plenty of chances here. Arsenal also have the best defensive figure this season so I’m not too worried about Leicester putting them under pressure at the back. I feel we’re getting enough value for a Five Star NAP to start the weekend!

MANCHESTER CITY V NEWCASTLE
3pm We have a very busy afternoon with five fixtures kicking off at 3pm. By far and away the highlight fixture is Manchester City hosting Newcastle – indeed, this should be a TV game not a 3pm kick off. Obviously Manchester City are in the middle of their massive Champions League tie with Real Madrid so the only place for it was 3pm which is effectively a middle schedule this weekend. With the Premier League title gone you might say that Pep Guardiola and his men will be fully focused on the clash with Real Madrid, but City have a battle on their hands for a Top Four spot at the moment so they can’t afford to just switch off from the Premier League. Once again on Tuesday night they got themselves into a good position and collapsed in the final ten minutes – very unlike City, but we’ve watched it happen plenty of times this season. How much did the Vinicius Jr banner backfire for the City fans? He ended up player of the match! This is a massive game in the Top Four race really – both sides come into this game with the same amount of points.
Although most Premier League fans will be expecting Nottingham Forest to fall out of the Top Four, they come into this weekend with a six point advantage. City come into the game as the marginal odds on favourites at 1.95 with Newcastle 3.8 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. In my opinion, it’s quite easy to pick holes in both sides. Newcastle have been conceding a lot of chances this season but have been getting away with it – their average xG conceded of 1.49 is far too high for a side aiming for a Top Four finish. City have been all over the place at the back at times this season too; much is made about Manchester United being a clown show but City have conceded more goals than them! I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here because it’s hard to have confidence in either side, and for me this game screams goals. Over 2.5 goals jumps off the page at 1.48 in what should be a very open game.

CRYSTAL PALACE V EVERTON
5.30pm We finish Saturday with Crystal Palace hosting Everton. We have another interesting market here with Crystal Palace coming into the game as the marginal odds on favourites. The home win is trading 1.93 with Everton 5.0 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing. Everton were involved in midweek action in the Merseyside Derby, and that turned out to be one of the talking points of the week in the football world. We thought we saw drama with Manchester City and Real Madrid, then it all kicked off with Everton and Liverpool! Whatever about the red cards at the end, I think every football fans likes to see a bit of needle and passion on the pitch – the Manchester City and Liverpool rivalry was never as good as Manchester United and Arsenal for example because they were too nice to each other. From an Everton point of view, even though it was only a draw it was an excellent sent off to Goodison park for the last ever Merseyside Derby there. It also kept up the good momentum under David Moyes – now three wins and a draw on the bounce – they don’t even to think about the relegation battle anymore.
Crystal Palace have also been on a good run – only three losses in their last sixteen Premier League games is an excellent record after a very slow start. They went eight games without a win and people were starting to talk about a relegation battle. Those three losses have come at home though, which is a worry here considering they are odds on favourites. Fulham won 2-0, Arsenal 5-1 and Brentford 2-1. Everton’s stats are obviously poor but they have definitely improved under Moyes so you have to look beyond the fact that their average xG created is the fourth worst in the Premier League. I’m going to keep stakes small here, but I do feel the 1.93 is worth laying on Crystal Palace. Everton have playing with a lot of confidence under Moyes so far, and I feel this one will be closer than the odds suggest. There’s no getting away from the fact that Palace have been playing some decent football too so one point feels the right stake – I just personally wouldn’t have Palace odds on here. A lot of Premier League fans might suggest this isn’t the most glamorous TV fixture, but it should be a decent game.
