ASTON VILLA V FULHAM

12.30pm Another Premier League Saturday rolls around on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have a shorter than usual fixture list here given we’ve had so many other competitions – we also had Premier League action on Thursday and Friday night too. We kick off the day with the biggest game of the day as Aston Villa host Fulham. Given the title is decided and the relegation battle over, the only question on the run-in now is who gets Champions League football next season. Aston Villa are going to be involved in that discussion, but they basically need to win every game they have left. A loss to Manchester City prior to their FA Cup Semi-Final loss last weekend has left them massively on the back foot, even allowing for the fact that the Premier League will get an extra Champions League spot this season. Villa come into the weekend sitting in seventh, and Fulham are actually behind them in eighth. I feel Villa have got themselves into a position where they will need help from other results, as well as winning their final four games. Unai Emery and his side might have to settle for the Europa League next season.

As you would expect given home advantage, Aston Villa come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.8 with Fulham 4.9 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. Fulham have been having an excellent season, and the main progress has been away from home. For years they produced excellent performances at home only to be let down by their performance level away from home. This season they are creating more than they are conceding away from home, and they are basically creating the same level of chances as their home games too which is very positive. Fulham actually have a better attacking figure than Villa this season, and they also have a better defensive figure too. I know this is essentially a meaningless game for Fulham and it’s a must win game for Villa – we are at the stage of the season now when motivation is a factor – but I do feel that the 1.8 is far too short on Villa here. I’m going to keep stakes low, but from a value point of view I’m happy with the Villa lay.

The Striker Says:
One point lay (liability) Aston Villa to beat Fulham at 1.8 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE

ARSENAL V BOURNEMOUTH

5.30pm We finish Saturday with Arsenal hosting Bournemouth, and given the situation with Arsenal in the middle of their Champions League Semi-Final, this should be a very interesting market. Arsenal find themselves in a very difficult position after losing the first leg at home 1-0 to PSG – it’s only one goal and we know that can change in seconds, but to go to Paris and win is going to be a massive task. The title race has been effectively over for weeks now but it was fully confirmed last weekend – surely we’ll see some changes to the usual starting XI for Arsenal with their full focus on next week now. Nevertheless, Arsenal come into the game as the favourites at 2.13 with Bournemouth 3.6 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. I have to say I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 2.13 on Arsenal here given the situation; this is definitely a game for small stakes before seeing the team news. From that point of view, we could easily see some big market movements before the off and it’ll be a case of fastest fingers first on the team news.

Bournemouth sit in mid-table, but they have been very entertaining to watch this season. They actually have a marginally better attacking figure than Arsenal too – Bournemouth’s average xG created is 1.73 and Arsenal are just behind them at 1.71. Obviously the Premier League is an exceptionally high standard, but the criticism aimed at Arsenal this season has mainly been their lack of adventure at times going forward. Realistically you’d want to see a higher attacking figure for a title challenger. Bournemouth have been very open at the back too – their average xG conceded is 1.51 which they have been getting away with this season but I’d expect an end-to-end game here. Obviously Arsenal have been exceptionally solid at the back – they have the best defensive figure in the Premier League, but their shape might change here given we’re likely to see changes. As I said above, I’m keen to keep stakes small here but Both Teams To Score looks a nice position at 1.78.
