Obviously the missed penalty was the low point, but it’s just been a season to forget for City. They spent a lot of money in January, and no doubt they’ll be spending a lot during the summer too. Let’s not forget about he financial fair play charges hanging over the club too – it’ll be interesting to see do we get news about that soon.
City come into the final two games in danger of missing out on Champions League football too. With wins for Aston Villa and Chelsea on Friday night, not unexpected given they were playing the hopeless Spurs and Manchester United, City have dropped down to sixth now. The pressure is very high on City coming into the final two games now; and they haven’t really dealt with the pressure moments well this season. Despite some poor performances, it’s no surprise to see City come into the game as the heavy odds on favourites. Manchester City are trading 1.53 with Bournemouth 6.4 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing.
Bournemouth have been one of the most entertaining side in the Premier League this season. They have the fifth best attacking figure with an average xG created of 1.71 and they have been conceding a lot of chances too as their average xG conceded is 1.51. They have been getting away with things at the back so far this season as their actual figure is much lower at 1.19. Obviously we all know City have been lacklustre this season compared to usual – I wouldn’t be rushing to take the 1.53 here, but obviously there is a gulf in class between the sides. I feel given the way Bournemouth play, we should see goals here. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.57 with Both Teams To Score at 1.69. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, but given how sloppy City have been at the back this season and Bournemouth creating so much, Both Teams To Score looks a nice option at 1.69!
