CARABAO CUP QUARTER FINALS: The Striker looks ahead to the matches between NOTTINGHAM FOREST v WOLVES and SOUTHAMPTON v MAN CITY on Wednesday including recommended BETDAQ bets.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST V WOLVES

7.45pm The Carabao Cup Quarter Finals continue on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with two very different markets on Wednesday evening! We have a red-hot favourite in Manchester City away to Southampton, and then we have an exceptionally open market to start the evening between Nottingham Forest and Wolves. This is the start of a huge run for both these sides when you look at their fixture list. Nottingham Forest are going to play Leicester and Bournemouth in the Premier League soon, and the results from those games are going to have a massive impact on the relegation battle. For Wolves, they have to play Manchester City away and also have a tricky fixture against West Ham at the weekend in another huge game in the relegation battle. A win here for either side would obviously be a huge boost, and getting into a Cup Semi-Final would be a great achievement for both clubs. It’s fair to say that both clubs have been pretty average this season, and this should be a very close game. I can’t see either of them being too open with so much to play for.

We have an exceptionally open market too. Nottingham Forest are marginal favourites at the time of writing, currently trading 2.74 with Wolves 2.9. If Wolves got a result here it would cap a good few days in the Cups as they got a 2-2 draw away to Liverpool at the weekend in the FA Cup. It was a shame that wasn’t actually a Premier League fixture because they could have done with the point! Nottingham Forest lost heavily to Blackpool which was a surprise because Blackpool are sitting in the bottom three in the Championship. As you would expect with both sides in the relegation battle, both have pretty average stats. Nottingham Forest are marginally worse at the back, and that was highlighted again at the weekend. Whether or not Wolves are good enough to take advantage of that is another matter of course, and all I can see is a very close game here. The draw is trading 3.25 and it looks well worth a bet at those odds.

The Striker Says:
One point win Draw at 3.25 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

SOUTHAMPTON V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm We finish the evening with Southampton hosting Manchester City. These two sides couldn’t be having a different season with Southampton in the relegation battle and Manchester City in the title race! Southampton have been very poor since we have re-started the Premier League after the World Cup, and their new manager is already under immense pressure. Southampton managed to grind out a nice win away to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup at the weekend, but they suffered a huge 1-0 loss at home to Nottingham Forest this day last week. That’s left them sitting bottom of the Premier League table and it’s also given Nottingham Forest, a relegation contender too, a nice boot. Obviously the change in competition will be welcome for Southampton, but they are now two points adrift at the bottom of the table and things are starting to look bleak. Perhaps this is a good fixture, because they have nothing to lose here – everyone will expect them to be beaten and surely they can have a go at City. Sitting back and playing for a 0-0 just isn’t going to work. They already lost 4-0 to City in the Premier League this season. City warmed up for this game with a very smooth 4-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup at the weekend too – that result put more pressure on Chelsea boss Graham Potter but for City it was business as usual. The market is very confident on the away win, with City trading as short as 1.25 at the time of writing.

With City trading so short in the match odds market, we’re going to have to look around the side markets for some value here. There’s a huge gulf in class between the sides here, and I can’t see past a comfortable City win. While there’s no prizes for tipping at 1.25, I would recommended putting City in any Betdaq Multiple this week! Although Southampton are sitting bottom of the table, they actually haven’t been as bad at the back compared to other sides close to them. They are “only” conceding an average xG of 1.6 per game this season which is poor, but other sides are a lot closer to 2.0 or even over. I expect a comfortable City win, but Southampton can keep the score line respectable. Although Under 3.5 goals is tempting at 1.76, I’m happy to take the 1.86 on Both Teams Not To Score. I can see City completely controlling the game here and Southampton won’t get many chances. They have been very average going forward this season, and the 1.86 is a nice value price. It also allows for another 4-0 City win rather than Under 3.5 goals!

The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.86 on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
