EVERTON V CRYSTAL PALACE

7.45pm The FA Cup Third Round replays continue on BETDAQ Betting Exchange on Wednesday night! The focus will be the all Premier League clash between Everton and Crystal Palace after these sides played out a 0-0 draw to kick off the Third Round. Hopefully we see more goals this time! It wasn’t a terrible game, both sides actually created enough to suggest they deserved a goal at some stage but here we are. While the bigger sides might complain that they don’t need extra fixtures, for these two a Cup run would be fantastic.

Everton come into this game as the favourites with home advantage. They are trading 2.0 at the time of writing with Crystal Palace 4.3 and the draw is 3.65. I have to say I was surprised when I clicked into the market to not see Everton trading odds on. They finished the 0-0 draw between the sides with a higher xG figure than Crystal Palace and they have been fantastic at home this season. Obviously we might see some changes to the starting XI’s because it’s the Cup – not something I agree with but anyway – but I’d still have Everton odds on here.

They managed to hold Aston Villa to a 0-0 draw here at the weekend, and in general they have been superb at home this season. I know they are only one point off the relegation zone in the Premier League at the moment, but that’s been due to their ten point deduction. That would have sent them down the last two seasons, but this season they have been very good. They actually have a higher average xG created than Chelsea and Manchester United. I know those two clubs have been bitterly disappointing recently, but it shows how well Everton are playing – they basically have mid-table form and should go up the table as the season goes on.

At home, their average xG created in the Premier League is 1.63 which is impressive. Compare this to Crystal Palace away from home which is 1.07. Palace have clearly struggled to create chance away from home this season, and they have been conceding a lot too. They’ve had a difficult fixture list recently, but they are four Premier League games without a win away from home. They actually desperately needed that 3-1 win over Brentford because that broke a run of eight Premier League games without a win and they weren’t far off the relegation battle at that stage!

Obviously in the early stages of the FA Cup it’s always shrewd to keep stakes relatively limited. We get a lot of changes to starting XI’s and such, but I feel we’re getting a lot of value on Everton at 2.0. They’ve beaten Palace in the Premier League away from home this season, finished the 0-0 meeting in this competition with the higher xG figure and their home form has been very solid. I really like the 2.0 – if it was Premier League I think I’d have a Max Bet but three points feels the right stake in the Cup.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Everton to beat Crystal Palace at 2.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
