LA LIGA FRIDAY: The Ultra previews Friday’s games between ELCHE v CELTA VIGO and VALENCIA v CADIZ both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ELCHE V CELTA VIGO

5.30pm It’s not quite our usual Friday night football slot on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week because the Bundesliga has yet to return, but we do have two fascinating games from La Liga to enjoy. It’s going to be a huge evening in the relegation battle with Elche hosting Celta Vigo and then Cadiz playing Valencia later on. We kick off the evening Elche v Celta Vigo, and this is basically a must win game for Celta Vigo despite being away from home. Elche have easily been the worst team in La Liga this season, and after 15 games they are the only side left to not win a game. They are sitting nailed to the bottom of the table with just four points from their 15 games, and while Celta Vigo have been very average themselves, they have to view this game as a great chance to claim three points. When you look at the under-lining numbers from Elche, it’s clear to see where their problems are. They are conceding over two goals per game and creating less than one. Their stats are bleak, and looking at their position in the table they are pretty much certain to go down.

Celta Vigo start the weekend sitting just outside the relegation zone in 17th, that’s definitely not a comfortable position, but especially so when you have a club like Sevilla sitting one point behind you. Nobody would have expect Sevilla to be sitting in the relegation zone at this stage of the season, and it’s to expect them to get out of this disaster soon – however they haven’t played good football at all this season! Celta Vigo actually had their first game back after the World Cup at home to Sevilla and they had to settle for a 1-1 draw. They are unlucky, because they finished the game with an xG nearly three times what they conceded to Sevilla. Celta Vigo have really struggled going forward this season; their under-lining numbers are close to Elche in that regard, but they have been much better at the back. The market is expecting a cagey game with Under 2.5 goals trading 1.67, but I expect Celta Vigo to grind out a win here and I prefer the away win at 2.18 compared to Under 2.5 goals at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Celta Vigo to beat Elche at 2.18 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

VALENCIA V CADIZ

8pm Next we have Valencia hosting Cadiz, and this is another game that will have an impact on the relegation battle with Cadis starting the weekend sitting in the bottom three. They returned to action with a very entertaining 1-1 draw against Almeria that could have finished 3-3 to be honest, but Valencia will see this as a very winnable game as they sit comfortably in mid-table. Both of these sides have went through a lot of change over recent seasons – indeed Cadiz could have easily went down last season but for a strong finish. Valencia went through a lot of changes the season prior, but they have comfortably settled back into mid-table life. Their next aim has to be battling for a European spot, but that might be a year or two away yet. Cadiz are usually involved in plenty of high scoring games, but that has come at a cost for them. They are conceding an average xG of 2.4 this season which is exceptionally high, and it’s easy to see why they are sitting in the bottom three. They don’t appear to have fixed those issues during the World Cup if their return game was anything to go by, and it will be interesting to see can they sort out their issues over the next few weeks.

Valencia come into this game as the odds on favourites, and they have a lot in their favour here. They look good value at 1.59 in my opinion. Cadiz simply haven’t been good enough this season, and Valencia have been rock solid. They are creating an xG of nearly 2.0 per game, and up against this weak Cadiz defence with home advantage is an excellent chance for them to claim another three points. They returned with a 2-1 loss against Villarreal on New Year’s Eve, but they didn’t play too badly away from home. They absolutely bossed Real Betis here before the World Cup break, and Cadiz have only managed five points away from home this season too. I’m going to keep stakes reasonably small here, but it’s hard to see past a Valencia win at 1.59.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Valencia to beat Cadiz at 1.59 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
