MONDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews BARCELONA v RAYO VALLECANO with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA V RAYO VALLECANO
8pm All eyes will be on La Liga for Monday night football on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have a huge clash in the title race as Barcelona host Rayo Vallecano. Barcelona sat with their feet up at the weekend and watched Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid both drop points, so now they have a superb chance to get right back into the mix in the title race. A win here would actually put them top of the table on goal difference – what a rollercoaster the La Liga title race has been this season – and I’m sure there’s plenty of drama left too!
Barcelona will be fully expected to win here, and they come into the game trading as red-hot favourites. Barcelona are 1.22 with Rayo Vallecano 14.5 and the draw is 8.2 at the time of writing. After going nine points clear at the top of the table at the start of November, Hansi Flick has his first crisis as Barcelona manager – just one win from eight La Liga games left them seven points behind Real Madrid. A loss and two draws for Real Madrid from their last three games has really opened things up; Real could have went ten points clear at the time if they beat Osasuna before Barcelona played Las Palmas. As I said, it’s been a rollercoaster.
Atletico Madrid have also been dropping points for fun recently – after putting together eight straight wins, only one win from their last five has also left the door open for Barcelona. All they have to do is walk through it now. Rayo Vallecano come into this game sitting in the European spots which would be an incredible achievement for them. They have been keeping their games exceptionally tight this season, and they’ve been getting away with things at the back. Their average xG conceded is 1.39 for example, but their actual goals conceded is only 1.04 which is quite a difference.
There’s no getting away from the fact that Barcelona have been playing the better football this season, they are the better team and with home advantage they should get the job done. However, I wouldn’t exactly be rushing to include them in an Acca at 1.22 – that price is too short to get involved with on its own, but it’s not a price I’d happily include in an Acca either. I’d expect Barcelona to have to work very hard to break down a stubborn Rayo Vallecano side, who will likely be playing for a draw here too.
There’s a couple of ways to play this one in my opinion. My options are Unders in the goal market, Rayo Vallecano on a handicap because I feel they will keep the score line respectable or perhaps Both Teams Not To Score at 2.14 given how much Rayo Vallecano will sit back. Under 2.5 goals is trading 3.75, and you can get 2.09 on Under 3.5 goals which makes a lot of appeal in my opinion. Rayo Vallecano are 1.66 +2.5 goals, and I much prefer the Under 3.5 goals option in what I expect is a more cagey game than the market expects.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 3.5 goals at 2.09 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
