7.30pm All eyes are on the Bundesliga playoff game on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this Monday as we head into the second leg locked at 2-2! We had a very entertaining first leg, with Elversberg taking a 2-0 lead in the first half before Heidenheim came back to draw 2-2 in the second half. It was an end-to-end game full of chances, and it’ll be interesting to see do we get such an open game here given what is at stake. Both sides defended poorly to be honest, and although they are limited going forward, they are clearly going to give each other plenty of chances.
Heidenheim went into the first leg as the favourites with home advantage, and this time around it’s Elversberg as favourites. The home win is trading 2.38 with Heidenheim 3.05 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Heidenheim can point to the xG figures from the first leg and say that they were the unlucky side – not really something you can say given you went 2-0 down but anyway. They finished the game with an xG of 2.66 compared to Elversberg at 1.47. Heidenheim pretty much dominated the game with 30 shots; 50% off target though!
Let’s not forget that Heidenheim finished the Bundesliga with the fourth worst attacking figure, and they struggled to convert those limited chances too. Obviously there is a big gulf in class between the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, so they were able to create a lot more. Having watched the first leg, I do feel that the home win is a little too short here at 2.38. I know Elversberg probably did better than most people were expecting in the first leg but at the same time it was clear to see that Heidenheim were the better side in my opinion.
I think we’ll have a close game here, perhaps more cagey than the first leg given the circumstances, but at the same time I’m happy with an Elversberg lay at the odds whatever way the tactics turn out here. I just feel we’ll see a closer game than odds of 2.38 suggest. I know Heidenheim have been poor at times in the Bundesliga, but we did see the class on show between the leagues in the first leg in my opinion. I would be tempted by the Heidenheim win, but it is nice to have the draw on our side too.
