MATCH OVERVIEW:
A new weeks begins at the IPL on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and it’s the start of a massive week too. We only have two more groups games before we head to the start of the playoffs on Thursday. We kick off the action on Monday with Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings clashing in a top four clash. Before the weekend, we already knew the top four were set in stone after Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals – as I have said before, the top half of the IPL table has been extremely competitive this season.
Now, we head into the final two games with a huge amount at stake. As things stand, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have 17 points with Mumbai Indians on 16. All three sides play over the final two games, with RCB playing Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday. Given how competitive it has been at the top of the table, getting into those top two spots is going to be massive to have two chances at the Final. Gujarat Titans who sit top of the table have been very good too – we should actually have a fantastic week of cricket given how good the top four have been playing.
Punjab Kings had a chance to rule Mumbai out of the top two on Saturday but lost to Delhi Capitals. Once again their bowling let them down which has been their issue this season. The batters put on 206/8 but it was chased down by six wickets with three balls to spare. Given these two might meet at some stage in the playoffs – whether it’s first up or layer – surely Mumbai have to go all-out attack and get into the bowlers heads here!
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
It’s Mumbai’s last “home” game but obviously the IPL has had some issues given the situation with Pakistan. This game is at Jaipur – they have already played here this season against Rajasthan Royals (their home ground) so they would have got a feel for conditions. Punjab Kings will know conditions very well though having played here two times over the last week. The first inning scores here have been; 173/4 (chased), 180/5 (won), 209/4 (chased), 217/2 (won), 219/5 (won), 206/8 (chased). Obviously it’s been very high scoring, and we can expect another high scoring game.
RECOMMENDED BET:
It’s no surprise to see Mumbai as the favourites here at 1.8. They have been finishing the tournament exceptionally strongly and have all the momentum heading into the playoffs. Obviously Punjab will be trying to break that here! Punjab have played some very nice cricket at this IPL – you only have to look at their place in the table to see that – however, you’d have to be very concerned with their bowling on this ground against an in-form Mumbai batting line-up. I can see that being the deciding factor in the game, and I’m happy to side with Mumbai here.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Judging by the scoring conditions here and how good these two have been with the bat, this is definitely a game where you want to focus on finding trades on the batting side rather than the bowling side. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see 200 chased down here – I would likely support the side who bats first, and then switch at the innings break. It would be a surprise if we didn’t see a high scoring game here to be honest – I’m also keen to take on the Punjab bowling which is their weak point and like I said above, will likely decide the game.
