LATVIA V WALES

7.45pm The Euro 2024 Qualifiers continue on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE on Monday, and the focus tonight is on Group as Latvia host Wales. Unfortunately for Wales, this is a bottom of the table clash at the moment as they have only managed four points from their four games thus far. Latvia are in an even worse position with four losses from their four games, but obviously expectations are higher in Wales! They were always going to be up against it in this Group but you would have felt they would be competitive for second place.

They still might be too. A win here would give them seven points, and they’d be three behind Turkey. That’s the major issue really as Croatia will be expected to top the Group. They are unbeaten in their three games, and they’ll be expected to beat Armenia today too. They’re trading close to 1.4 for the win there. Wales started this Group with a superb draw away to Croatia, but a loss at home to Armenia in June was a real blow – a couple of days later they lost away to Turkey, but the real damage was done with that Armenia result.

Wales will now need a favour from someone to get back in touch with Turkey, and hope to beat them in the final Group game at Cardiff in November. Because of their Nations League performance too, Turkey are already assured of a playoff spot. Whatever way you look at the Group, this is a must win game for Wales. Latvia will be the whipping boys of the Group, and they simply can’t afford to drop points. They come into the game as the odds on favourites; currently trading 1.52 at the time of writing with Latvia 8.2 and the draw is 4.5.

It’s hard to see past a Wales win here to be honest, however they have struggled since Bale retired and they are definitely going through a period of transition. I wouldn’t be rushing to back them at 1.52 just because they have leaked goals recently and haven’t created a huge amount. With home advantage against Latvia they had to grind out a 1-0 win, and you know Latvia will put XI men behind the ball and try to grind out a draw which would be a good result for them. I’d expect to see Wales win, but this might not be good viewing. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.86 and that looks cracking value in what should be quite a cagey affair without many chances.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.86 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
