THURSDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews HEIDENHEIM V ELVERSBERG with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
HEIDENHEIM V ELVERSBERG
7.30pm The pressure is on in the Bundesliga relegation playoff on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as Heidenheim face Elversberg on Thursday night in the first leg. It’s a long way away from some of the glamorous fixtures we have around European at the end of the season, but with so much on the line for both clubs, it’s going to be interesting viewing. As you would expect with home advantage, Heidenheim come into the game as the favourites at 2.26 with Elversberg 3.4 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing.
Heidenheim obviously had a difficult time in the Bundesliga this season, but they managed to grind out enough results to avoid the bottom two and straight relegation. It was quite a dramatic fall off from the previous season though when they finished up in eighth, and actually got into the Europa Conference League off the back of that. It’s not the first time we have seen Bundesliga clubs jump up-and-down the table but it would be quite embarrassing to go down to Bundesliga 2 after actually making it into the European spots – even allowing for that fact that was eighth!
Heidenheim had the fourth worst attacking figure in the Bundesliga this season and the fourth worst defensive figure – at least they were consistent you might say but not in a good way! They under-performed on these poor figures too – they weren’t even converting their limited chances and they were sloppy at the back as well. When you’re scoring a little over a goal a game on average and conceding close to two, you’re always going to be in trouble. The gulf in class between the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 is quite big – this is something we’ve seen around Europe lately given all the money in the top flight these days. It’ll be interesting to see can Heidenheim start on the front foot with home advantage.
Elversberg were very competitive in Bundesliga 2 this season – they were only three points off top spot. They finished the season very strongly too – they were unbeaten in their last eight games and they actually had a better goal difference than the winners Koln – who most Bundesliga fans know well! I wouldn’t say that Elversberg’s figures are exceptionally impressive given the level – their average xG created was 1.52 and their average xG conceded was 1.34. They surely must have more confidence coming into the game though compared to Heidenheim however. That being said, I did feel that we’d see Heidenheim at a shorter price than 2.26 with home advantage. The gulf in class between the leagues is quite big in my opinion, and I feel the value call is a small bet on the home win at the odds.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Heidenheim to beat Elversberg at 2.26 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
