NATIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL: The Ultra previews SPAIN v FRANCE with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

8pm We have the second Nations League Semi-Final on Thursday as Spain meet France on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. As I said in my preview of Germany v Portugal on Wednesday night, we had an immense amount of drama in the Nations League Quarter-Finals, so hopefully we see plenty of drama here! This should be a top quality game between two excellent sides – Spain are the current Euro 2024 Champions and France have been one of the best sides in the world for a while now. They went into Euro 2024 as the favourites, and obviously we all know how entertaining their World Cup Final was against Argentina.
Given the quality that we have in both sides, it’s no surprise that we have such an open market. Spain come into the game as the favourites at 2.54 with France 3.25 and the draw is 3.3 at the time of writing. Although France went into Euro 2024 as the favourites, they were very disappointing – they really struggled to create good quality chances. Of course, this is a repeat of the Semi-Final there with Spain running out 2-1 winners before going on to win the tournament. Ironically, that performance was probably one of their best for France because they were quite poor against Belgium and Portugal prior to that. They just really struggled to play free-flowing football and create the chances that we are used to seeing from them.
You could argue that they haven’t improved that much since. They topped their Nations League Group, but finished level on points with Italy who haven’t been a top side for a while. France also made very hard work of getting past Croatia at the Quarter-Final stage; they lost the first leg 2-0 but coming back and winning the second leg 2-0 themselves before winning on penalties. It’ll be interesting to see how France approach this game; at the moment it feels like they won’t be able to out-gun Spain, so will they opt for a very cagey approach? Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.71 – that looks a little short to me to be honest, but I can understand the logic behind it.
France come into this game with more questions than answers in my opinion, and Spain feel like they are in an excellent place – why wouldn’t they be obviously after winning Euro 2024! While I’m going to keep stakes reasonably low here because we do have two excellent sides, and of course when you do get to this stage of any tournament you do get into very tactical affairs; however the 2.54 on Spain is too big to ignore in my opinion. They look the better side and come into the game in better shape – I can understand the open market, but Spain are the value for me.
