ARSENAL V PSG

8pm We kick off the Champions League Semi-Finals on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this week! We have two absolutely cracking fixtures, starting with Arsenal hosting PSG on Tuesday night. Arsenal might have lost the Premier League title race to Liverpool, but they were exceptionally impressive knocking Real Madrid out in the Quarter-Finals. The only thing to note is that Real Madrid were (still are) going through a tricky period with conceding goals. Arsenal now face a superb PSG team; revitalised under Luis Enrique without any major stars to cause problems in the dressing room.

The sides have already met here in the new Champions League Group stage wih Arsenal running out 2-0 winners. That score line definitely flattered Arsenal – PSG finished the game with a marginally higher xG figure and they also had 65% possession in that game too. That fixture also came at a time when PSG weren’t at their best – they went on to draw with PSV, losing to Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich in their next three games. Since then though they pretty much haven’t put a foot wrong in this tournament. They lost 1-0 at home to Liverpool, but we all know how unlucky that was and they managed to correct it in the second leg away from home.

Both sides come into this Semi-Final with plenty of prep time. Arsenal had their Premier League fixture moved forward because Crystal Palace were playing in the FA Cup Semi-Final at the weekend, so they had a weekend off. While PSG finally lost their unbeaten record against Nice at the weekend in Ligue 1 but the title is already in the bag there and they would have been fully focused on this fixture. As we always say with PSG, winning Ligue 1 is to be expected, the acid test is always the Champions League.

Arsenal come into the game as the favourites at 2.2 with PSG 3.65 and the draw is 3.55 at the time of writing. PSG have had plenty of experience with Premier League sides this season – they had to come through Aston Villa in the last round too. It is a slight concern that they lost that away leg, but given they took a two goal lead into that leg it was just a case of getting the job done and getting through – similar to Barcelona losing at Dortmund. PSG are the only side to have schooled Liverpool this season, and they’ve been playing some incredible football.

I have to say that from a value point of view, the 2.2 feels a little short on Arsenal here. They have been very impressive at the back though; their average xG conceded of 1.07 is the best defensive figure in the Premier League this season. At times, they have struggled going forward though and I feel PSG will out-gun them there. They had a lot of the ball when the sides met earlier in the season, and this time around they can get a result. I’m happy with the Arsenal lay at 2.2 – I feel PSG will make those odds look far too short and I’m happy with a confident bet.

The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Arsenal to beat PSG at 2.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
