MATCH OVERVIEW:
It’s a massive Tuesday at the IPL on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as Delhi Capitals host Kolkata Knight Riders. This is a huge game for both sides with Delhi suffering a setback at the weekend when losing to Royal Challengers Bengaluru – maybe it is really RCB’s time as they went top! Delhi have themselves in a nice position on 12 points, but things could change quickly with a loss here – they sat in fourth after the defeat on Sunday so they are right on that playoff line at the moment. I’m sure there’s plenty of twists and turns to come in the race for the playoffs!
From a KKR point of view, this is a must win game. That washout against Punjab Kings left them on seven points, but having conceded just over 200 in the first innings you could argue the rain saved them. Given RCB went top at the weekend with double the amount of points, KKR are up against it at the moment. They just have to put a few wins together and see what happens; I actually can’t see them getting into that top four, but a win here would also be a blow to Delhi so this is probably their last chance if you like.
This should be an entertaining game. KKR have been a little short this season, as their place in the table shows, given they were champions last season. After an excellent start to the tournament, Delhi have bounced between winning and losing for a few weeks. Their games have all been pretty close though; Delhi will view this as a great opportunity to notch up another win to be honest – it’s KKR under all the pressure.
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
While conditions in Delhi have been good for batting, the scores have been reducing with every game. We started with 205/5 (won), then we had a tied game with 188/5 and we had 162/8 (chased). RCB chased that down quite easily in the end at the weekend; obviously there was a bit of drama along the way but I would suggest whoever bats first here has to be aiming for at least 180 to be competitive. That being said, given the way scores have gone I wouldn’t fully go into this game just expecting a high scoring game.
RECOMMENDED BET:
It’s no surprise to see Delhi as the favourites here. They have had some setbacks recently, but they are playing far better cricket compared to KKR. I’m happy to take the home side at 1.9. I was actually surprised to see them trading that high when I clicked into the market. KKR are there for the taking with the way they have been playing this season; they probably got away with that game stopped by the rain too against Punjab Kings. That’s the second time in a row they’ve conceded high runs, and prior to that they collapsed trying to chase 111! Delhi are a confident bet.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
Given the way things have gone scoring wise in Delhi this season, it would be wise to go into this game with an open mind on in-running strategy and scoring. The scores have been reducing with every game, and we’ve had a mix of batting or bowling being successful in the first innings too. I wouldn’t say it’s a massive edge to bat or bowl first here at the moment. I really want to take on the KKR bowling though, in either innings, and that’s where I see most market movement.
