CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SEMI-FINAL: The Ultra previews BARCELONA v INTER MILAN with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BARCELONA V INTER MILAN
8pm We have the second Champions League Semi-Final on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as Barcelona host Inter Milan on Wednesday night. This should be a fascinating clash, and both sides come into the tie in very different places. Barcelona had a dramatic win over Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey Final on Saturday night, while Inter Milan suffered a massive blow to their title hopes with a loss against Roma on Sunday. It will be fascinating to see how this tie plays out over the two legs.
Obviously we’re going to have a lot of the memories of when the sides met in the Champions League prior; Jose Mourinho getting Inter Milan through under incredible circumstances. From a Barcelona point of view, they come into this tie in the perfect position – the Copa del Rey in the bag, four points clear in La Liga and the treble is very much on. Inter Milan will be here to spoil the party – they went into the Quarter-Final against Bayern as the underdogs and they managed a 2-1 win away from home in the first leg. They’ll be hoping to repeat the feat!
As you would expect given home advantage, Barcelona come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.69 with Inter Milan 5.6 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. Both sides have obviously been playing excellent football this season; Barcelona have the best attacking figure in La Liga while Inter Milan have the best attacking figure in Serie A. Barcelona are creating a lot more though, in a better quality league too (in my opinion). It’s hard to get away from Barcelona here; as I said above they have everything going for them at the moment. From an Inter Milan point of view, they will come here with a view to making the game as quiet as possible.
A draw would obviously be a very good results and get back to Milan for the second leg. Barcelona put the tie to bed in the first leg against Dortmund here too; but Dortmund have been having a poor season and Inter Milan are a much bigger challenge. It’s interesting to see Over 2.5 goals trading shorter than the Barcelona win – that’s 1.63 at the time of writing and I’m not sure I’d be rushing to take those odds given the likely tactics from Inter here. Both sides are clearly rock solid at the back – Barcelona are the only side with an average xG conceded under 1.0 and Inter have an average xG conceded of 1.18 – they are conceding less than a goal a game on average this season too. I’d much rather back the Barcelona win at 1.69 compared to the Overs bet at a handful of ticks shorter, and I’m happy with a confident bet on Barcelona.
