EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s Europa League Final between VILLARREAL and MAN U with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

VILLARREAL V MANCHESTER UNITED

8pm It’s a massive week of European Finals and we start with the Europa League on Wednesday night! It’s a huge week for the Premier League, with Manchester United taking on Villarreal here and then an all Champions League Final between Manchester City and Chelsea on Saturday. We should have an excellent week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. I know a big European Final is always a massive game for both sides, but Villarreal missed out on a Europa League spot on the final day in La Liga. Unless they win here, they’ll end up in the new Europa Conference League!

This is also a massive game for Ole Gunner Solskjaer to win a big trophy with his United side. Solskjaer has already been through some tough times at Old Trafford, but he has an excellent young squad to work with now and a win here would be an excellent platform. However, Jose Mourinho won this tournament and we know how that ended! They are very different personalities, and a win here would set up a very exciting summer for United fans – one or two signings could really see them get closer at the top of the table. They won’t lift the title, but it would be nice to “lock in” a Top Four spot without worry each season to enjoy Champions League football – which they will next season after finishing second.

United finished the Premier League season badly, but they were certain of finishing second for a while and they rested a host of players. I wouldn’t pay much attention to their recent form, as it’s clear their main focus has been this game. Indeed, not many casual fans even knew some of their XI for their final game against Wolves! Villarreal have been battling for a Europa League spot on the run-in but came up short. They had to play Real Madrid on the final day, and I did suggest that would be an ideal prep for this fixture.

That being said, United are in a different league compared to Villarreal and they should be winning here. They have been excellent going forward this season and that can be the difference here. Villarreal are a solid side, but they are limited and struggle to dominate games. They had a huge amount of draws in La Liga this season, and although on paper they had some good results towards the end of the season, the underlining numbers tell a different story. They beat Sevilla 4-0, but xG had the game 2.6 to 1.09 to Sevilla. They also conceded more chances than they created to Real Valladolid in their game prior to Sevilla, and Valladolid got relegated this season.

I’m expecting a pretty cagey game, as you would expect with most finals – I can’t see Villarreal playing an open game and United might have to chase this game. I get the feeling Villarreal would almost be happy with a draw given the way they play. That being said, I’m happy to back United at 1.9 – for me they look too big to turn down at that price. My main worry is a cagey draw, but United look much better than this Villarreal side and if Villarreal hold them to a draw then so be it – I would have United shorter than their current 1.9. They should create a lot more chances than Villarreal and if the game does open up, United can counter attack much better. They will outscore this Villarreal side.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Manchester United to beat Villarreal at 1.9 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
