REAL BETIS V CHELSEA

8pm The eyes of the footballing world turn to the Europa Conference League Final on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as Real Betis clash with Chelsea. This always feels like it’s Europe’s ignored competition, until you get to the Final and then it gets very serious! A major European trophy would be a massive achievement for Real Betis – obviously Chelsea have a conquered the Champions League before, but this would still be great to add to their collection. Obviously we do have some very weak teams in this competition, but we should have a cracking game – Real Betis finished a solid sixth in La Liga and Chelsea ended up in fourth in the Premier League after the weekend.

Chelsea come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.87 with Real Betis 5.0 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Chelsea had somewhat of a rollercoaster season in the Premier League. They were talked about as title challengers in December after five wins in a row and then the wheels came off with just one win in their next seven games. They finished the season strongly and actually ended up with the third highest attacking figure behind Liverpool and Manchester City. Their defensive figure was good too; an average xG conceded of 1.27 which was the joint-fourth best in the Premier League. There’s plenty to be positive about; a win here would cap a successful season to be honest.

Real Betis have had a decent season in La Liga too. They’ve never been a top four side so to get into the Europa League spots is a decent achievement for Real Betis. They tasted Cup success with the Copa del Rey in the 2021/22 season. Just like Chelsea, they finished with the third highest attacking figure in their domestic league – not bad coming behind Barcelona and Real Madrid! They had a mid-table average xG conceded, and while you could easily say that there is a little gulf in class between the sides, the 1.87 on Chelsea does feel a little short given how well Real Betis have played this season.

We saw Scott McTominay get an excellent reception when Napoli lifted the Serie A title at the weekend – Anthony could easily be the star for Real Betis here too – it’s been a good run for the ex-Manchester United players! The sides have never met, it’s superb to have your first clash in a European Final! I would lean towards a Chelsea lay from a value point of view, but I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here. While I feel that there is value in the Chelsea lay, I really like Under 2.5 goals here at 1.97 in what should be a tense final.

The Europa League Final was exceptionally boring between Spurs and Manchester United last week. I hope we see more drama here, but perhaps not if we want to land Under 2.5 goals. It’s hard to see past a cagey Final – that classic affair when no one wants to open things up and both these sides have been very solid at the back all season. They’ve been involved in high scoring games in this tournament, but now that we’re in the Final I can see them opting to be a lot more cautious and I’m happy with the Unders.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.97 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
