WORLD CUP: We preview Tuesday’s three World Cup games between COLOMBIA v JAPAN, POLAND v SENEGAL and RUSSIA v EGYPT each with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
COLOMBIA V JAPAN
1pm Group H finally gets underway on Tuesday as Colombia take on Japan. Colombia come into the tournament in excellent form with a very impressive record at the back – they’ve kept clean sheets in three of their last four, and seven of their last eight wins. They appear to be the complete opposite of Japan coming here with a relatively new manager who has lost two of his three games in charge.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Colombia 1.73, Japan 6.0 and the draw is 3.85. Colombia look great value at odds of 1.73 – they come here with an impressive squad and a great recent record; their side will be full of confidence and we can easily see them outclassing this Japan side. They’ve recently managed to beat France 3-2, while looking at Japans recent games; they’ve lost to Switzerland, Ghana and Ukraine while only drawing with Mali too. We feel Colombia should be at least ten ticks shorter here.

POLAND V SENEGAL
4pm Poland ended up being Top Seeded for the World Cup this year; however they are a very weak Top Seed compared to the others and this is a wide open Group. You’d have to expect Colombia to go through, so this is a huge game for both sides. We have a very open market, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Poland 2.4, Senegal 3.65 and the draw is 3.2.
Poland won eight of their ten games in qualifying which is an impressive record – they have played poorly in the warm up games and friendlies however it’s hard to read too much into those games when a side had an impressive record in qualifying. Senegal will come into this World Cup full of confidence however they have struggled to beat a lot of sides who are weaker than Poland. We can see Poland not playing like a “Top Seeded” team in this Group; however they should have too much class for Senegal and we like them at 2.4 to win.

RUSSIA V EGYPT
7pm Well, that’s all of the first round of Group games out of the way and the hosts Russia are back in action on Tuesday night! They were very impressive when beating Saudi Arabia 5-0 on the opening day, however you have to question the level that Saudi Arabia played at – they were woeful! Egypt lost a very close game against Uruguay; only losing to a very late goal and they should prove a tougher test for Russia.
The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Russia 2.16, Egypt 4.1 and the draw is 3.3. Obviously one of the talking points this World Cup has been Mo Salah’s fitness and although he was named on the bench for the first game – the vibes were always that it would come too quick for him and it’ll be very interesting to see what happens with him here. It’s fair to say that no team relies on one man more than Egypt does with Salah, however Russia look a little short at 2.16 – Egypt were very solid at the back against Uruguay and we’d expect a similar performance here. We like under 1.5 goals at 2.7 in what could be a very close game.
