NAVAN NAP: SHAMROCK hopes to strike early at Navan this afternoon when his NAP runs in the opening maiden at 2.05.
Hoping to get business completed early today. I’m napping in the five furlong opener at Navan at 2.05pm and hoping to be in the money at around 2.06pm !!
The Tommy Stack trained Aspar looks the one to be on and I expect him to make the running and not be pegged back.
Five furlongs on turf look his optimum conditions currently. He made an encouraging debut at the Curragh when second over six furlongs and then ran well again here over six furlongs when a three quarter of a length second to Moral High Ground who went on to run in a Group 3 and was by no means disgraced.
Aspar was a little disappointing at Dundalk last time out but that was back over six furlongs and it might simply be a case of him not being as effective on the all-weather.
Piazzini is the danger – she was just beaten at the Curragh last time but I think Aspar will have her measure and she is helping to keep the price about the selection decent (2.32 on BETDAQ at the time of writing).
If you want better odds (silly question), just make an offer and if it gets accepted you’ll pay a flat 2% COMMISSION on winnings on the race.
