GOLDEN DAY AT GOODWOOD FROM NAP AND 50-POINT BULL’S-EYE: Daqman’s tipping previews are all about passion and he knows you have to work hard for the glory which he has built up at Goodwood, with three big-race winners, including a 50-point strike in the Golden Mile yesterday and a 2-1 nap, appropriately Passion And Glory. As ever, his success reveals the fantastic morning value on BETDAQ.
Friday
WON 8-1 MAYDANNY (win 50 bull’s-eye bet, 12.5 on BETDAQ)
WON 2-1 PASSION AND GLORY (nap, 4.4 on BETDAQ)
Thursday
WON 11-1 OTTOMAN EMPEROR
Tuesday
WON 10-3 ANGEL BLEU (from 9.8 on BETDAQ)
DAQMAN WITH 46 WINNING BETS IS MONTHS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE: Daqman promised 50 winners against Pricewise this season but yesterday’s strikes mean that he is only four short of that target already with, literally, months to go!
DAQMAN 46, PRICEWISE 27 (Daqman +126.36, Pricewise +46.00)
Daqman had a plan based on the stats for yesterday’s Golden Mile. How does he see the Stewards Cup panning out this afternoon?
EXPECT A POWER DRIVE BY SHOEMARK
⭕ 1.55 Goodwood (Stewards Sprint) Yesterday, I forecast low numbers would win the Mile and tipped a stalls order of finish 2, 5, 3, 1, 9. The first four home by draw were in fact, 5, 8, 9, 2.
This sprint tends to low numbers, too, as they race hard up the middle and tend to spill across to the stands’ side. Only one high stall has produced the winner in 10 years. The nine others came from 3, 13, 5, 6, 11, 12, 7, 1 and 3.
Treat this as the bottom half of the loaf with the best rising to the top, giving you quality in the crust, so high weights do well.
Music Society (out of 2) and Power Over Me (12) are due to go up 8lb and 7lb respectively so should give a good account today. Bickerstaffe is a pound well in under a penalty for winning at Ascot but ‘beat nothing well.’
But Music Society’s stable has the leading jockey of the meeting, William Buick, on tough old bird Staxton (stall 23), and Music Society was well down the field in this Consolation a year ago.
Power Over Me won on another downhill run at Epsom a month back but was disqualified for a weigh-in discrepancy. Kieran Shoemark will be keen on redemption, flying high after his sensational Nassau Stakes strike on Lady Bowthorpe. Mokaatil (from the one stall) has also won (twice) at Epsom and David Egan rides.
First Folio (6), who has done his winning on firm ground, looks a favourite to oppose. Treacherous won last year with The Lamplighter third from stalls 3 and 8; they are out of 10 and 11 this time.
BETDAQ value 13.5 Power Over Me, 21 Staxton, 49 Mokaatil
LEAD ON TO VICTORY AT BETDAQ 11.0
⭕ 2.30 Goodwood On To Victory beat Rhythmic Intent and Nuits St Georges in the November Handicap (1m 4f).
It’s Nuits St Georges who has tipped the bottle since, winning back to back from the front when stepped up to today’s trip the last twice, including here at Goodwood on the soft, when he pipped Prince Alex a head.
On To Victory, from the in-form Alan King yard, went hurdling but was a good second on today’s course to subsequent Group-3 winner Hukum, and will say ‘thankyou very much’ for Nuits St Georges’s lead today.
We have to take it on trust that Aaadeey and My Frankel will stay, which makes them pretty short for what they’ve done. Urban Artist requires plenty of rain to be effective.
BETDAQ value 8.8 Prince Alex, 11 On To Victory .
⭕ 3.05 Goodwood (Lillie Langtry Stakes) Fortune Cookie fans need the rain for Wonderful Tonight. She was absolutely scintillating at Royal Ascot and there’s nothing here within 7lb of her.
GO FOR ANOTHER HAGGAS HURRICANE
⭕ 3.40 Goodwood (Stewards Cup) Middle-to-high draws for this were picked by trainers who didn’t want their horses swallowed up on the stands’ rail. Yet, intriguingly, the last three successful favourites scored from stalls 1, 4 and 3.
They are sprinkled among big-odds strikes out of 15, 17, 25 and 26 at 25-1, 22-1, 20-1 and 12-1, and the real draw sinkhole seems to be the in-between (particularly gates 5 to 9).
GREAT AMBASSADOR That’s where you’ll find the gamble of the race Great Ambassador (in 7) who, additionally, doesn’t want the ground too soft. Value, and probably chance, has gone.
FRESH The other one for the money is the Wokingham runner-up Fresh (Kieran Shoemark), who loves the ease in the ground. James Fanshawe chose stall 16.
HURRICANE IVOR He’s one of Fresh’s neighbours, two doors away out of 18. An improver who thrashed those on his side of the draw when runner-up in a big field at Ascot, and compensation awaits for William Haggas (current form figures 140111).
MERAAS (out of 24) is 6lb lower than when an early leader, sixth from a far-side low draw (4) last year. Ryan Moore takes over and has the speed to lie up on the stands’ side.
MAJOR JUMBO (stall 4 this time) is a pace horse. In fact, with speedy Punchbowl Flyer (in 3) and Hey Jonesy (6) in the van with them, there could be an early lead for that far rail.
PUNCHBOWL FLYER is three out of four, all on soft ground, but that has hiked him 16lb. Ejtilaab is up 12lb for winning at Epsom (Atalanta’s Boy behind) and Newcastle. Danzeno carries a penalty, and Commanche Falls is up 16lb for three out of four.
MR LUPTON (2) is not an early player and finds it difficult to get through (down the field from a high draw in this last year, and in the Wokingham) but his situation today gives him a chance for cover in a smaller pack over on that far rail, where Lampang (5) is also a hold-up horse.
BIELSA Mr Lupton beat Bielsa at today’s weights at York in the Spring, and Bielsa has a higher mark than when beaten favourite three times in a row.
GULLIVER (22) is another who has tried this race before (twice down the field) but was fifth in the Wokingham this year. Won the Coral Sprint at York in October 3lb higher than today.
OSTILIO (from the one stall) hasn’t shown a glimmer of hope since moving yards as a dual 7f winner but that’s seen him drop 12lb.
SUMMERGHAND Seven Group attempts since winning this last year. Races off a similar mark from the same stall (17).
BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE value 7.9 Hurricane Ivor, 8.3 Fresh, 23 Meraas, 25 Summerghand

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
