GETAFE v BARCELONA

3.15pm The focus on Saturday from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange is on La Liga as Getafe host Barcelona! We had a busy midweek fixture list in La Liga with a break last weekend for the Copa del Rey Final. Barcelona beat Celta Vigo on Wednesday night to go nine points clear at the top of the table with six games remaining – it’s very difficult to see Barcelona slipping up now, but obviously we do have one more El Clasico left this season. Lamine Yamal, arguably the best player in La Liga this season, limped off with a hamstring injury in the first half on Wednesday and Barcelona have since confirmed he will miss the remainder of the season which is a massive blow.

This is a game that Barcelona will be expected to win, and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. Barcelona are trading 1.65 with Getafe 6.2 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. Obviously Barcelona are missing a handful of players through injury, but their performance levels have been fantastic all season. Their average xG created of 2.20 is the best attacking figure in La Liga and their average xG conceded of 1.05 is also the best defensive figure. There’s no argument that they deserve to be La Liga winners this season. With all the drama at Real Madrid, Barcelona have been a class above everyone else in Spain this season.

While on paper most football fans would expect Barcelona to win here, Getafe are having a brilliant season themselves results wise. They were in a relegation battle last season – they finished the season in 13th but they were actually only two points away from the bottom three. This season however, they come into the weekend sitting up in sixth! They have a shot at European football, which would be an incredible achievement in fairness. They have built their campaign on the foundations he has always favoured – defensive solidity, tactical discipline, and making life as difficult as possible for the opposition. If you looked at the stats, you’d call their games boring given the goals scored, but it’s getting them points.

Getafe have been one of the genuine surprises in La Liga this season; it’s actually remarkable they sit in sixth considering they have the worst attacking figure in the league! Their average xG created of 1.09 is very poor, and they are actually not even converting those chances! Their average xG conceded of 1.31 is decent figure, but obviously that overall performance level is nowhere near the European places yet here we are. Obviously you can’t ignore the fact that Getafe have been getting the job done this season, but you also have to feel that the 1.65 on Barcelona is cracking value when you look at performance levels. It feels like Getafe’s best chance of a result here is 0-0, which indeed might be their goal, but I can’t see them stopping this Barcelona side and I also feel we’re getting enough value at 1.65 for a Five Star NAP!

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Barcelona to beat Getafe at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
