PREMIER LEAGUE FRIDAY: The Striker previews LEEDS v BURNLEY with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LEEDS V BURNLEY
8pm We have Friday Night Football from the Premier League to enjoy on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week! It’s the start of a long weekend packed with football. Leeds host the already relegated Burnley at Elland Road in what should, on paper at least, be a very winnable fixture for the home side. They had the heartbreak of getting knocked out of the FA Cup last weekend against Chelsea, but they have been finishing the Premier League season with strong momentum. They touched the relegation battle conversation, but recent wins against Manchester United and Wolves see them finishing the season in comfort now.
Despite the FA Cup disappointment, Leeds have every reason to be proud of what has been an excellent first season back in the Premier League. They were one of the favourites for relegation – they have survived and given their fans a day out at Wembley – they’ve done better than most clubs, and in fairness their xG figures haven’t been bad either. It’s not like they have massively over-performed to stay up like Sunderland. It’s no surprise to see Leeds come into the game as the odds on favourites – the home win is trading 1.46 with Burnley 8.4 and the draw is 4.9 at the time of writing.
Farke has this Leeds side playing attractive, attacking football. Their average xG created of 1.40 is a respectable mid-table attacking figure, and their average xG conceded of 1.44 is also solidly mid-table. Basically, they haven’t been near relegation standard. There’s a lot to build on for next season too. Unfortunately for Burnley, they face next season in the Championship but they can have no complaints. Their average xG created of 1.08 is the lowest attacking figure in the Premier League, and their average xG conceded of 1.88 is also the worst defensive figure. Dreadful numbers that have translated directly into results. They have become a yo-yo side between the Premier League and Championship.
Burnley are finishing the season with their heads down too. They have not won a league match since February and they’ve lost six of their last seven Premier League games too. Indeed, they’ve only won once since November which is quite the run. Their 13 game winless run at Turf Moor has been the second worst in their history in the Premier League. It feels like the players are going through the motions in these final stages of the season, and it’s hard to see much motivation from a Burnley perspective. I can’t see past a Leeds win here with them in good goal scoring form; I’d be happy with the 1.46 but I feel that they can cover the 1.5 goal handicap on the way to winning – they are trading 2.21 -1.5 goals which looks cracking value and I’m happy with a confident bet to kick off the weekend.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Leeds -1.5 goals to beat Burnley at 2.21 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
