£60,000 BETDAQ-SEVEN HEAVEN: Good ground and a £60,000 BETDAQ sponsorship gives us an intriguing and entertaining Doncaster card of seven races on Town Moor this afternoon.

BANKER BET ON FUTURE STAR: Daqman predicts that a star chaser will be born in the Betdaq Multiples novices’ chase, and goes all in, after making 16 points profit yesterday.

3-1 NAP IN 40-1 FORECAST: Daqman landed his nap, Emral Silk (WON 3-1), at Catterick, warning that Vuvuzela (2nd 14-1) was the danger. The one-two paid more than 40-1 as a forecast with Ladbrokes.

TOMORROW: HUGE DOUBLE BID: Look out tomorrow for Daqman’s bid to fill his Cheltenham wallet with a Lanzarote Hurdle and Warwick Classic double, both with Bull’s-Eye Bets in his challenge to Pricewise.

HILL CAN RISE TO ARKLE CHALLENGE

12.30 Doncaster (Betdaq £30 Free Bet And 3% Commission Maiden Hurdle) If you follow Nicky Henderson blind, Doncaster today and Kempton tomorrow are among the best days of your jumps season, since these two venues have produced huge level-stakes profits for the yard (Kempton 64 points; Doncaster 32) over the last five years from 30%-plus strike-rates.

Henderson has Barry Geraghty and Tony McCoy to boost his chances in the first three races, starting with a McCoy ride for his guv’nor J P McManus in this maiden hurdle, Saint Charles.

Saint Charles is a £140,000 buy from point-to-pointing. He flourished in the close season and caught the eye as big of bone and of potential when making his hurdles debut at Ascot in November.

A week later, Paul Nicholls’ Rainy City, from a good family and son of Katchit’s sire, Kalanisi, won a bumper on Town Moor, ridden by trainer’s daughter, Megan.

It will be a surprise if one of the two don’t win this, a race Henderson took last year with a 7-2 shot, and BETDAQ this morning suggests a simiular result with Saint Charles but watch the market.

1.00 Doncaster (Betdaq 0% Multiples For First Month Novices’ Chase) The £30,000 mares’ chase is the big race on the card but this one could go down in history, as I fully expect Josses Hill (Henderson-Geraghty) to win it on the way to the Arkle.

Josses Hill was beaten nine lengths by Ptit Zig at Ascot but rubs shoulders with him in the Arkle betting. My man in the long grass says the horse was ‘a furlong short of his peak’ that day. ‘He’s just learning’ was the Henderson comment.

It was Josses’ chasing debut, having been good enough over hurdles to get within six lengths of the winner in the Supreme Novice at Cheltenham, name of Vautour, another of his Arkle rivals in March.

Ptit Zig is now a 159 chaser and Josses Hill was already running up to his hurdles mark (150) at Ascot. So, even if the ‘furlong short’ remark is tenfold hyperbole, he could still strip several lengths a better horse here and challenge the best at Cheltenham.

1.35 Doncaster (Cash Out On The Betdaq+ App ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle) Nicky Richards landed four from four on the second day of the year at Ayr, and Glingerburn is his first runner since.

Glingerburn has been given plenty of time since his CD win at Doncaster in November and has been looking for this better ground; today should be perfect.

But the Nicky Henderson Fakenham winner Nicolas Chauvin and Tom George’s chasing type, Some Buckle, are also carrying penalties here for sparkling debut wins.

I can’t agree with the Racing Post ratings in the online card: 126 Some Buckle, 123 Nicolas Chauvin and 108 Glingerburn.

Glingerburn beat Relic Rock when that one was on 122 (official ratings); Nicolas Chauvin is at least 126 on his defeat of Apterix and those behind Sam Buckle (OR 124) at Southwell are still maidens.

Glingerburn and Some Buckle have bags of stamina in their pedigrees, and I’m a Chauvinist today because of the minimum trip but, from what I hear, I think we must follow Glingerburn’s career.

2.05 Doncaster (Betdaq No Premium Charge Mares’ Chase) This £30,000 Listed also has a star in the making: name of Harry Fry.

If you’d followed him since Boxing Day, your results would be 132141111210. Every one of his at 13-2 or shorter at SP has won!

His runner here deserves a mention, too: Highland Retreat won four out of five over hurdles, up to Grade 2 at Ascot a year ago, and was back in the winners’ enclosure in her third chase at Huntingdon a month ago. And the jockey? Well, that’s 19 times champion, Tony McCoy.

Pepite Rose is a class-2 winner (Listed as a novice) but Venetia Williams is currently ‘doing a Jonjo’ with 18 consecutive losers.

2.40 Doncaster (Betdaq £200 Games Bonus Handicap Chase) Papradon won from the front at this level at Uttoxeter and, though it looks tough at the top with 11st 12lb, his rating has, in fact, dropped back to that winning mark and he has to give a maximum of 8lb in this short handicap.

Fredo is also down in the ratings and has McCoy doing the steering for the first time, but he’s won only twice to Papradon’s eight chase successes and 15 other places. Papradon is big at 8.2 on BETDAQ this morning.

3.15 Doncaster (Betdaq Comm Free Football On Saturday Mares’ Handicap Hurdle) Earth Amber, second on the Flat in the Group-3 Sagaro Stakes, completes today’s Nicky Henderson squad.

But the mare is still a maiden over hurdles after two goes at the game, one starting last January, then returning to the obstacles in November. Drying ground is against her.

Seven other horses in the race are aged six and seven and could have improvement in them, perhaps the most interersting on trainerform being Roja Dove and Dewala.

Roja Dove’s stable is currently 2332343011 and Dewala’s has hit six winners already in the new year. But both these mares are also maidens, up against five with winning form, notably Seas Of Green, though the bid for a hat–trick here is off 22lb higher than her starting point.

Handmaid (9.8 on BETDAQ as I write) won a novice on good ground in the summer, returned in December in a class 2, and is now down below the mark of her winning form. Balmusette also won on a sound surface.

3.45 Doncaster (Betdaq No Premium Charge Handicap Hurdle) The usually-formidable O’Neill-McCoy team has scored just the once this year so far, prompting Jonjo to see that winner as a breakthrough and express his thanks to all those who have supported him through a lean time. Did he speak too soon?

I doubt that Flintstone, beaten a total of 196 lengths in his hurdles career, plus twice failuring to complete, will tell us much.

In fact, David Dennis is the only trainer doing well in this field, including with Steel Summit, who has already won twice since Boxing Day!

His 7lb penalty for winning at Taunton two days ago is nothing to what the handicapper is likely to do to him and he’s 11lb below his chase rating here. I’ll put him in my Daq Multiples.

We’ve seen so many stable outsiders beat favourites from their own yard recently that we have to put a pound on Dennis’s other runner, A Keen Sense (38.0 offers), though he appears to have as much chance as the starter’s hack on all known form.

Once again, potential improvers aged six and seven – six more of them – are lurking, Flintstone blinkered first time, and Vinegar Hill likely to be suited by the step up in trip.
