WIN! WIN! WIN! 88 POINTS PROFIT: Daqman named three consecutive Chester winners yesterday to take his profit for the first two days of the meeting past 88 points. The winners were a win-50 bull’s-eye bet and two at maximum stakes, Illinois his fourth successful supernap out of five.

Thursday Chester hat-trick: profit 80.25
WON 8-1 ROMAN DRAGON (bull’s-eye bet)
WON 6-5 ILLINOIS (max stakes supernap)
WON 1-1 MOUNT KILIMANJARO (max stakes)

Chester first-day profit: 7.90
WON 13-8 MINNIE HAUK (max stakes supernap)
WON 11-10 REDORANGE

MOORE MUST TIP THE SCALES..

⭕ 1.30 Chester The stalls spotlight in this opener is on Divine Libra. We’re relying on Ryan Moore to land the morning 6.1 on BETDAQ.

Taken wide from gate 12 (the smart mover and shaker that day was William Buick), the grey cut across to score here last May.

Moore is set a similar task from stall 11 today but has more to do. Neck and neck on their August one-two here are Divine Libra (again had a poor draw in 14) and Two Tempting who had stall 7 then and the one stall today. A close third was Gorak from 10 (now in 7).

CUNNING MOVE WITH THE FOXES

⭕ 2.35 Chester (Huxley Stakes) Sir Michael Stoute produced last year’s winner, Passenger, who had been thrashed the previous Spring by The Foxes in the Dante.

Now here’s The Foxes, swerving York for Chester, where he can get that ‘midway’ trip of 10 furlongs, like the Dante.

The Foxes has run well recently in the Hong Kong Cup (4th Group 1 December) and the Amir Cup in Qatar (2nd Group 3 in February).

Bolster likes cut in the ground and I’ve always seen Space Legend as a Cup horse (stayed on well in the King Edward V11, 1m 4f at Royal Ascot).

DOCK A GIMME ON THE RATINGS

3.05 Chester Cup Last year’s one-two, Zoffee and Emiyn, are brought close together at the revised weights. Both are at the veteran-stayers’ stage but Zoffee’s yard landed a Chester double yesterday.

Spirit Mixer finished well behind last year but came good on the Roodeye in the late summer, winning back to back.

Ryan Moore is riding with fitness, skill and judgment but we know very little about Leinster; no evidence from form or breeding that he will stay, though Joseph O’Brien says he will.

East India Dock has won quality Flat (class-2 handicap) and Jumps (Grade 2 hurdle) over around 2m and, with a 147 hurdles rating, now looks a gimme with only 89 on the Flat.

Tom Dascombe is hoping the sun goes in. He wanted plenty of watering for Hot Fuss – BETDAQ buy at 10.5 this morning – with his proclivity for setting a strong place, but Fuss was four lengths behind East India Dock at Wincanton, and has a 124 hurdles mark and 93 on the Flat.

Caballo De Mar has won five in a row, now hiked a total of 29lb but four of those strikes were on AW (he beat Duke Of Oxford and Charging Thunder at Southwell).

Dawn Rising finished second, near side where the winner was, in the Cesarewitch but was close on four lengths down at the line. Badly drawn in 15.

Divine Comedy was beaten half a length in the big-field Ascot Stakes (good to firm) at the royal meeting last June.

Who’s Glen was a Chester course winner on heavy in the autumn (1m 6f) but was easy to back early doors today. First foal of a source of good 2yos sent to Gleneagles so it’s all experimental.

Betdaq Betting Exchange East India Dock 4.5, Zoffee 18.

GET OUT OF GAOL WITH WARDA

⭕ 3.40 Chester Eight winners out of 10 came from the first five stalls and Andrew Balding, who has won this 1m 2.5f handicap twice in the last nine, has Warda Jamila drawn 5 and offered 5.5, ridden by Oisin Murphy.

She is nicely placed off a mark of 89 after running well in the City And Suburban. The well-watered ground will suit, with yesterday’s race over this trip slow by 4.82secs.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
