IT’S ALL HAPPENING TOMORROW! Daqman is swatting up on the best horses in Europe – no, the world – as the cream of racing descends on Royal Ascot tomorrow until Saturday. Starting point is a clash of English, Irish and French Guineas winners, and the Aussie attack on English and Irish sprinters.

FIVE DAYS OF ROYAL ASCOT: Daqman today announces his staking plan for all five days and, checking out the markets, finds a strong bias to the Irish, with seven favourites in the major contests. Don’t miss his battle for value with Pricewise of the Racing Post from tomorrow.

IT’S A BETDAQ MONDAY: Ahead of the action on the main stage, DAQMAN previews the four BETDAQ sponsored races on the BETDAQ card tonight.

RIGHT ROYAL STAKING PLANS TO WIN 100

I’m upping the ante for Royal Ascot. Tomorrow until Saturday, I shall raise my stakes to a minimum win target of 30 points each bet, but all handicaps will have 50 points minimum target (the bull’s-eye bet), some staked to win 100 (ton-up bet).

Bankers will range from 20 points win (silver) through 30 points (gold) to a maximum of 40 (diamond).

Every day will have a lay of the day and every day will have Daq Multiples targeted to win at least 100 points.

Overall, each day will have a minimum target return of 200 points profit. That’s the positive. And we’ll try to cover the negative prospect by staking so that one winner will cover all the day’s bets.

LUCKY-SEVEN IRISH POWER PACK FOR ASCOT

Is this Ascot or Cheltenham? The Irish, known for dominating the National Hunt Festival, have a seven-horse roll-up for the royal meeting; seven favourites you wouldn’t dare to oppose. In race-day order:

SOLE POWER (Edward Lynam, Kings Stand Stakes): Going for a Kings Stand hat-trick after his familiar late surge took him clear of the field last year, following on his defeat of the Meydan track-record holder in 2013.

GLENEAGLES (Aidan O’Brien, St James’s Palace Stakes) National Stakes winner as a juvenile before disqualification in the Grand Criterium at Longchamp, has won both the English and Irish 2,000 Guineas with a Classic gear change.

ROUND TWO (Jim Bolger, Coventry Stakes) Unbeaten son of the stable’s Teofilo. Won the Marble Hill Stakes only 10 days after his debut, beating a Ballydoyle winner, Washington DC, who takes him on again. Already at the forefront of the 2016 Guineas market.

FREE EAGLE (Dermot Weld, Prince Of Wales’s Stakes) Second to Derby winner Australia as a juvenile, not seen since last autumn when, after winning a Group 3 at Leopardstown, the High Chaparral colt finished third in the Champion Stakes at Ascot in October (heavy).

PLEASCACH (Jim Bolger, Ribblesdale Stakes) Another huge chance for Gentleman Jim, and another sired by Teofilo. Slaughtered her rivals in the Blue Wind trial at Naas, then fended off Found to win the Irish 1,000 Guineas from a big field. Her name means ‘explosive.’

FORGOTTEN RULES (Dermot Weld, Ascot Gold Cup) Unbeaten in only four starts, though now five years old, starting life in a bumper. Won the British Champions Long Distance Cup at Ascot last October (heavy). Started off the season with success on a sound surface but Ascot’s fast ground is a worry.

FOUND (Aidan O’Brien, Coronation Stakes) Easy winner of the Marcel Boussac at the Arc meeting, when she beat subsequent French Guineas winner, Ervedya. Beaten favourite twice this year, first on heavy ground in the Athasi Stakes, then when unable to get past Pleascach for the Irish 1,000 Guineas.

BETDAQ’S ROYAL ASCOT STARTER AT WINDSOR

Windsor always a get a good for their pre-Royal Ascot meeting, helped of course by the fact that the courses are only around seven miles apart.

BETDAQ sponsor four of the races on tonight’s card…

5:50 Betdaq Serious About Horses Apprentice Handicap (4yo+, Class 6, 1m 3f 135y, 8 runners)

Despite a hike of 11lb after embarrassing the handicapper at Lingfield with a seven length win, I still want to be on the right side of Leah Freya. She was a 33/1 chance at Lingfield (turf) when storming home but it doesn’t look like a fluke win and it might be simply a case of she is a much better horse than on all-weather. She has been beaten an average of 16 lengths in four previous AW races but such was the manner of her Lingfield win that I want to be with her again.

Edward Greatrex is riding well and had a winner at Epsom on Oaks Day. He’s onboard the Henry Candy trained Scarlet Sash here who looks the danger.

7:20 Betdaq Commission Free Racing On Saturdays Handicap (4yo+, Class 4, 6f, 9 runners)

Very competitive six furlong handicap in which high drawn numbers have dominated over the last three seasons (winners drawn 9,8,9). That doesn’t bode well for Chilworth Icon who is in box one but the morning favourite on BETDAQ.

I prefer Tamayuz Star (drawn 6) who ran a good course and distance second on his seasonal reappearance and has been offered the chance by the handicapper to go one better off the same mark.

7:50 Download The Betdaq+ App Handicap (4yo+, Class 4, 1m 67y, 8 runners)

It’s Edward Greatrex time again and I think he has an outstanding chance onboard Hannington who is on a rapid recovery mission having fluffed the start when 15/8 favourite at Bath on Saturday. He stayed on to good effect and his supporters will be hopeful that in this company the Saturday losses will be recouped just 48 hours later.

8:20 betdaq.com 20 Free Bet Maiden Stakes (3yo+, Class 5, 1m 2f 7y, 12 runners)

Syrdarya – you were told on Friday (check the DAQMAN archive).

FLASHBACK

Can that Goodwood maiden complete a hat-trick? The third home behind Speedy Boarding and Journey was Syrdarya, Ralph Beckett’s well-bred sort – by Galileo out of a Selkirk mare – who wasn’t put into the race until the later stages. If you’re catching the boat along the river to Windsor on Monday night, look out for Syrdarya in the BETDAQ.com £20 Free Bet Maiden Stakes (8.20), one of four BETDAQ-sponsored races that evening.

Well the good news is that Syrdarya does indeed run and can give a further boost to that Goodwood maiden run on May 21.

Syrdarya finished six lengths adrift of Speedy Boarding and Journey who have both won good races at Newbury since but was doing her best work at the end having been slowly away and looking very green. Trainer Ralph Beckett has had a winner on Saturday and Sunday and can continue the sequence today.

Think Ahead is the obvious danger, despite an absence of 591 days. The Godolphin runner has a good piece of Newmarket form to his name as a two-year-old when second to Giant Treasure and a full 10 lengths clear of the third on soft ground. He made his debut on good to firm ground when third at Newcastle and lengthy absences are certainly not usually a negative factor for runners from this stable.
