VENETIAN DAY IN THE SUN

⭕ 3.35 Newmarket (1,000 Guineas): 🎩 TRAINERFORM: Aidan O’Brien six winners in the decade. 🔢 DRAW (10 years): 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 for the far side; nothing in the middle; but 14, 16, 17 on the stands’ side. In yesterday’s 2,000, stall 15 had the winner from 7, 2, 3, 5 on the far side.

🤔 LAYS LOGIC: Last year’s winning favourite was the first since 2016, with five winners in the decade at double figures SP. The DAQMAN ORDER IN with official ratings:

***114 VENETIAN SUN (stall 1) (pictured below) Four-timer at 6f, culminating in defeat of Gstaad and other colts in the Prix Morny. Had to be switched when third to Precise in the 7f Moyglare.

Venetian Sun’s trainer, Karl Burke, knows the form, having saddled two other fillies to finish third behind Precise: Evolutionist in the Fillies Mile (see below) and Aylin in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood.

Aylin won the May Hill at Doncaster (1m on good to soft), with – – ROSE GHAIYYATH (stall 7) 4th, 101 TIMEFORSHOWCASING (stall 10) 5th and Venetian Lace 6th (see Precise).

**115 PRECISE (stall 2) Ryan Moore’s choice. Unbeaten since her debut, taking top autumn trials of Moyglare at the Curragh and Fillies’ Mile over today’s Newmarket CD, with 108 VENETIAN LACE (stall 13) second and 110 EVOLUTIONIST (stall 5) third.

Precise is said to have had an interrupted preparation, whereas Evolutionist took in a French trial, the Prix de la Grotte in April, beat the Marcel Boussac third, Narissa, and established herself as a French Oaks contender.

*– – ABASHIRI (stall 14) Frankel filly whose dam was granddaughter of an Oaks winner.

Impressive on debut at Kempton but may need more time (not yet given a rating after just the one run).

115 TRUE LOVE (stall 16) Queen Mary and Cheveley Park winner who beat the colts in the Railway Stakes and scored on her return under Ryan Moore. Wayne Lordan rides today. Form let down by Power Blue yesterday.

109 THE PRETTIEST STAR (stall 4) Half-length runner-up here in the Rockfel (7f) with 100 TOULEEN (stall 3) well beaten favourite but second in the Fred Darling trial in April.

109 MY HIGHNESS (stall 9) Hat-trick on good to firm as a two-year-old; runner-up on good to soft last month in top French trial, the Prix Imprudence, and Oisin Murphy rides but form through Fitzella is behind the English and Irish trialists.

105 AZLEET (stall 17) Won the Nell Gwyn Stakes (7f) here last month, with in fourth place 101 INIS MOR (stall 11), a 2yo winner on both firm and good to soft, and 6th 102 MUBASIMAH beaten favourite.

100 SPICY MARG (stall 18) Beat Azleet in a 6f Listed at Newmarket in October but Azleet did not get a clear run.

97 DOMNINA IGNIS (stall 15), 93 SILENCIOSA (stall 6), 87 TRUE TEST (stall 8), 86 DARN HOT GALLOP (stall 19),

Betdaq Betting Exchange 8.3 Venetian Sun, 2.92 Precise, 16 Abashiri

GROUNDS FOR A NAP BET

⭕ 1.45 Newmarket (Pretty Polly Stakes): Team Gosden farm this race with five winners in the decade, and were very pleased with Sacred Ground’s early professionalism, though just a two-year-old learning the ropes.

The one for the money this morning, Sacred Ground is a Kingman filly out of a Frankel mare, who won the 2019 Oaks. She has her own date at Epsom, when she may again meet today’s opponent, Esna.

SUBSEQUENT CUP PLAYER

⭕ 2.55 Newmarket: Epsom trainer Jim Boyle had the fourth horse home in the Guineas yesterday. His Many Men was progressive last year and has had a run back. BETDAQ 6.5.

Align The Stars was also made fit for this, turning over the favourite in a Kempton two-miler, but he was well behind Subsequent when that one won the Mallard at the Doncaster St Leger meeting.

Subsequent looks value at offers of 10.0 on BETDAQ this morning (13-2 with bookies) with worries about the going but he has been earmarked for the big Cup races this year and the ground has been watered.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
