SUPERNAP BID ON CHESTER DAY 2: Daqman’s in winner–a-day mode but threatens to double his score at Chester today with strong favourites, including a supernap and well-drawn outsiders. The value is in BETDAQ offers, of course!

Yesterday: first day at Chester
WON 15-2 SUPIDO

Tuesday: Profit on the day: 10.30
WON 4-1 MAGNA

DRAGON’S CHESTER TEETH

⭕ 1.30 Chester The first three races on the opening day yesterday went to stalls 1 then 2 (twice) and it’s a sprint start again today, with the results by stall in the decade: 5, 1, 1, 4, 1, 3, 3, 2, 5.

Trainer Hugo Palmer told ITV viewers yesterday: ‘Thursday is our day’! And his 10 runners this afternoon start with Roman Dragon and 15.5 BETDAQ offer Dubai Bling, both with ace draws (3 and 4), both with ace riders, Oisin Murphy and Billy Loughnane.

Murphy’s mount, Roman Dragon, won the race last year out of stall 5 and scored again on the Chester Roodeye in August over another furlong, drawn 6; in both races on, or within a pound of, today’s mark.

RIVER DOESN’T RUN DEEP

⭕ 2.35 Chester (Dee Stakes) Aidan O’Brien won both trials here yesterday, though I wouldn’t bet on his Amelia Earhart beating I’m The One again if they meet in the Oaks at Epsom.

It’s doubtful, too, whether his player today, Constitution River, is as good as Benvenuto Cellini, who surged clear in yesterday’s Vase. As ever, it depends how you look at the form at this stage in the season.

Officially, Constitution River’s Group-2 Curragh Futurity win in August has him rated only a pound better than for Morshdi’s success in the Listed Feilden Stakes at the Craven meeting.

However, on his debut, he was beaten just a shorthead by 2,000 Guineas third, Distant Storm.

Karl Burke had Shayem in Morshdi’s trial and chances are that was a sighter and his Lope De Vega colt, Golden Story, is much better. He beat last month’s runaway Pontefract winner, Iffraad, at Doncaster in the autumn.

JAN ON TOP OF THE WORLD

⭕ 3.05 Chester (Ormonde Stakes) Aidan O’Brien goes for a hat-trick (and five out of eight) in this with Jan Brueghel 9lb clear of his last year’s winner, Illinois.

Illinois is taken on again by the then runner-up, Al Qareem, but meets that one on 5lb better terms.

So it looks simple maths for the 1-2-3 except that Queens Vase third and St Leger runner-up Rahiebb intervenes, splitting Illinois and Al Qareem off 115.

There are other stayers of note in the field but – as he beat Illinois in the St Leger and got the better of last year’s world champion Calandagan in the Coronation Cup – Jan Brueghel must be regarded as a standout.

FIREWORKS FROM BOUGHEY

⭕ 3.40 Chester You get help from the draw again: six of the last seven winners came from stalls 1, 2 or 3 but, consequently, just one was bigger than 5-1 SP.

That prompted me to take early 9.3 offers about one of the Roudee Racing 10, King Of Thunder, stall 4 off a light weight for Hugo Palmer, whose other runner in this, I’m Just Ken, is the only maiden in the field.

Contrast with George Boughey, who has two crackers which will surely create fireworks at this level: Moonfall (Ryan Moore), BETDAQ 23.0, dropped in class but drawn 12, and hat-trick scorer McMurray (Billy Loughnane) from gate 5 and 3.55 favourite early doors.

SPEAKING OUT OF TURN..

⭕ 5.10 Windsor Chris Dwyer fancies his chances in Saturday’s Victoria Cup with Jimmy Speaking, on the upgrade this year and steered home the last day under a big weight by Silvestre De Sousa.

Dwyer and De Sousa team up for a tea-time tilt at this Windsor sprint with My Mate Kev, dropped 17lb since scoring a grade higher at Newmarket last year at this time.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
