STALL-9 BLOW TO ENABLE IN SUNDAY’S ARC HAT-TRICK BID: Enable has been drawn 9 of 12 runners in Sunday’s Arc de Triomphe but two of her principal rivals are even further out wide at Longchamp in double-figure stalls. Daqman assesses the news.

THREE WINNERS FRANKED THE DAQMAN NAP AT LINGFIELD: There’s a lot of rain about but Lingfield Polytrack should be safe enough. Daqman tries to find some bigger prices and naps the offer about a filly whose form has been franked by three winners.

SOTTSASS GETS ARC DRAW BOOST

Not so enabling! Three of the principals in the Arc – Enable (stall 9), Japan (10) and Ghaiyyath (12) – were this morning drawn out wide in the weekend’s big race at Longchamp.

Eight of the last 10 Longchamp winners of the race have come from gates 1, 2, 3, 6 (four) and 8, with Soft Light in the favoured 6 stall on Sunday.

Sakhee (15), Dalakhani (14), Treve (15) and Golden Horn (14) are the only winners from a double-figure draw this century. Found came out of gate 12 but that year (2016) the race was run at Chantilly; so was Enable’s first success (stall 2).

The last to be successful from the one stall (which has been gifted to French Derby winner, Sottsass) was Zarkava in 2008.

DRAW in stalls order: 1 Sottsass, 2 Fierement , 3 Waldgeist, 4 Blast Onepiece, 5 French King, 6 Soft Light, 7 Kiseki, 8 Magical, 9 Enable, 10 Japan, 11 Magano Gold, 12 Ghaiyyath.

FALLON FANCIED WITH 9.2 FORSETI

1.40 Lingfield Three-year-olds have never been beaten in this, and one of their number today – there are just four – is a travelling stable’s sole runner at the meeting with top apprentice Cieren Fallon booked.

Forseti, who comes down from the Midlands, won the Ladbrokes Home Of The Odds Boost Handicap at the start of the year and scored again at Leicester in July. Looked big at 9.2 in the BETDAQ orange early mouse.

Richard Hannon’s Rollicking has obviously had his problems; this is only his second start inside a year.

Recondite and Deference are maidens but Recondite comes into it after a narrow defeat on the last day, prompting first-time blinkers this afternoon.

Delicate Kiss won twice here last season but a 9lb rise has seen the mare second four times off the higher mark (20222).

It’s a similar story with Kendergarten Kop – 112 in his three races at Lingfield – but it’s all been happening for him since June and he was beaten only a neck over further on the last day; now just a pound higher.

Bobby Biscuit eased in the market this morning after being the plunge horse last night. A similar punt went stray in January. Since then, he’s been gelded and switched to Roger Varian, but has won only his maiden, which is always a bad sign.

PITCHING INTO 11.5 BETDAQ OFFER

2.10 Lingfield A decent little nursery, in which Imperial Empire and Forbidden Land are weighted to dead-heat on the form of their one-two at Sandown three weeks back.

Similarly, Dramatic Sands and Hexagon are brought close together by the handicapper after their Kempton one-two, separated by only a neck.

When they’re all of a heap like that, you tend to look for something to beat them, like maybe 8.2 offer Incinerator, who made all at Windsor before being outclassed when raised three grades at Doncaster.

Or Pitchcombe (11.5), getting between 8lb and 16lb from the field, despite being never headed in a company of 14 at Kempton, and then finishing well at Newbury (class 3), third to one who has done well since and been raised a stone.

2.45 Lingfield Sheriffmuir was third to Group contenders at Newbuy in July. Not seen since and has obviously had his problems. Wears cheekpieces today to try to get a win on his CV.

But it may not be that easy against Reine De Vitesse. Not quite ready on her first run in England, when she finished just behind three winners, and had earlier shown good form in a big field on the Chantilly Polytrack. Around 2-1.

9.0 RAPTURE IS READY TO MAKE ALL

3.50 Lingfield Seprani looked a favourite to oppose this morning, after just one win in her last 21 starts, and with current bridesmaid form of 2422202.

There was money for Rapture at ffos Las and she led them for around 7f before fading over a mile, and comes out of the one stall with every chance to bolt up the rail today.

A tasty 11.0 taken in the BETDAQ orange but charged to the account at 9.0 after non-runners reduced the level of offers, just as I was filing my copy.

There are three CD winners: Bint Dandy in 2014; Black Medic in January this year; and Javelin, whose win is a bit more recent (April) but I still fancy Rapture, unexposed half-sister to US Grade-1 winner Raging Bull.
