DAQMAN: ANOTHER NAP UP: Daqman is building a tidy profit this week after three winners, including the Tuesday nap at 13.8. He plays the BETDAQ markets at Carlisle and Salisbury this evening.
TUESDAY: Profit on the day 13.3pts
WON 13-8 MR UBIQUITOUS (nap)
WON 2-1 GINCIDENT
MONDAY: Profit on the day 2.10pts
WON 9-5 NOGO’S DREAM
EPSOM 1-2-3 CLASH AGAIN: 10 left in Sunday’s Irish Derby (listed below) include the 1-2-3 at Epsom.
IRISH DERBY DECLARED
DERBY RERUN: The Epsom Derby 1-2-3 were yesterday acceptors for Sunday’s Irish Derby at the Curragh, with Lambourn odds-on to repeat his victory over Lazy Griff and Tennessee Stud.
Ten are left in, with Green Impact, Pride Of Arras, Puppet Master, Serious Contender, Shackleton, Sir Dinadan and Thrice making up the potential field.
HE’S THE HONEST ROGUE
⭕ 4.15 Carlisle (Cumberland Plate) Ralph Beckett moved in on this all-aged handicap last year and won it with a three-year-old.
Now James Owen, who gave Daqman a winning start with Gincident yesterday, saddles a second-season Dubawi colt, Rogue Millions, who could target the John Smiths Cup at York.
The John Smiths hasn’t seen a three-year-old winner since 2010 but before that they won 16 times in 40 years.
Charlie Johnston also runs a three-year-old today but Cayman Dancer has no fancy entries at this stage.
Jack Channon’s soft-ground winner Galyx comes into it with easy conditions underfoot, and it was on good to soft that Per Contra ran third in a class 3 over further.
But both give a lump of weight to the three-year-olds, and to Free Speech who will like the ground but this is a grade higher than he’s used to.
MR KING RINGS THE BELL
⭕ 4.50 Carlisle (Carlisle Bell) Paul Mulrennan had a never-to-be-forgotten victory at Royal Ascot on American Affair for the venerable canny Scot Jim Goldie.
And on Saturday he landed a double at Ayr, both favourite, one for Goldie. The other was his first winner of the year for Iain Jardine.
His mount for the same trainer today, the grey Mr King, drops down 7lb and two grades to this lowly class 4 in first-time cheekpieces. I took 8.8 offered on BETDAQ.
Another stable in form, the Kublers of Lambourn, have a 33% strike rate on long hauls to Carlisle.
They like to book the best jockeys and David Egan, just touched off in the Commonwealth Cup on Arizona Blaze, is in fine form for Crack Shot (5.9).
LION LOOKS LET OFF..
⭕ 3.55 Salisbury (Whitsbury Manor Handicap) Two more three-year-olds try to muscle in on an all-aged handicap.
The long-shot, Big Cyril, has been very easy to back (SPs of 33-1 and 125-1) since a Listed third at Newbury last July but a gelding op last month may help.
The overnight favourite, Montpellier, going for a hat-trick, has been hiked to a mark which is level, or higher than, the older horses, and he drifted this morning (still didn’t tempt me).
Perhaps form students had spotted that Kodi Lion was given only a single pound rise for his two lengths second at Ascot in May.
With hindsight, his rating can surely be upgraded after the winner, though penalised 7lb, went back to Ascot for the royal meeting and took the Wokingham.
VALUE IN CUP MARKET
⭕ 4.58 Salisbury (Bibury Cup) Andrew Balding goes for a hat-trick in this race, after winning from the one stall two years running.
Excuses were made for his maiden winner Middle Ages at Newmarket the last day, and he reappears in first time cheekpieces.
I got a giveaway 6.8 early on Betdaq Betting Exchange this morning; then Criminal was withdrawn and I had to record the bet on here as 5.5.
With just AW form for Tremorgio and class-5 success only for Patsy Snugfit, I then left them out of the revised 108% book of offers and took a slice of Cape Breton.
I was hoping to see Cape Breton in blinkers (he was hanging last time) but there was enough confidence in this step up in trip to move him into the favourite’s slot.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
