It’s a massive Saturday for English Premier League betting and few games are bigger than the North London derby as Spurs seek to chase down Arsenal in the battle for Champions League places. Tottenham have been remarkably kind to punters all season, finding ways to not make a mess with regularity. A win for Spurs on Saturday would, at least temporarily, move them up to fourth in the table but they face a stern test in the form of an Arsenal side with a point to prove.

The Gunners come into this game on the back of three straight wins in the EPL, including a 5-0 thrashing of Aston Villa in their last outing. For Arsenal this is a a vital point in their season. The annual February malaise simply won’t do if they are to retain their spot amongst Europe’s elite next season. The market is cautious on Arsenal ahead of this one, due in no small part to what the calendar says. Tipster HQ however has no time for such hocus pocus. The Gunners may well suffer this month but not until the fixtures really start to pile-up. Right now they remain in good stead so take them at 2.34 for the win.

Speaking of teams in need of a win at a crucial time of season, Southampton are clinging on to the final Champions League spot at present but the Saints can’t afford any slips with the North London pair chasing them down through spring. On Saturday they travel to Loftus Road for a clash with struggling QPR. ‘arry may be gone but the problems for this team haven’t gone away. All of that being said, the market isn’t completely sold on Southampton but I’m telling punters to believe in the Saints just a little bit longer. Bet on Southampton to win at 1.9.

Finally we turn our attentions to Merseyside where Brendan Rodgers is fighting for survival on derby day. Everton have not taken the strides forward many expected under Roberto Martinez and they lie in 12th at present but with a chance to get a big morale boost on Saturday evening. Here’s the thing, Liverpool have started the run. We’ve seen it in their last three league games, we’ve seen it in the way they fought like madmen to survive in the FA Cup, and right now it’s not about style it’s about results. Liverpool might well look ugly at Goodison Park but I still think it’s a smart bet to back them at 2.34 on Saturday.
