After a really disappointing start to the season, AC Milan have begun to sort themselves out and host Parma tonight at the San Siro ahead of next week’s mouth-watering Champions League clash with Barcelona.
Massimiliano Allegri’s men have only lost one of their last ten Serie A matches and have won seven of those. Those results have lifted Milan to fifth in the league and a win tonight will see them leapfrog city rivals Inter Milan – albeit Inter will have a game in hand.
The 18-times Italian champions have had to dig deep to ground out result in recent times, though, with their last four wins all coming by just a one goal margin. The signing of controversial striker Mario Balotelli has given them more options up front but it is classy striker Stephan El Shaarawy who continues to take the plaudits, having banged in 15 league goals already.
Parma languish in tenth at present and have won none of their last five fixtures. They’ve also lost seven of their 12 away games so far this term and look up against it tonight. The layers make them around a 7.2 shot on BETDAQ and it’s not hard to see why with the Crusaders hitting just three goals in their last five matches.
Nonetheless, while it’s hard to see Roberto Donadoni’s side springing a surprise, Parma are hard to break down and rarely lose by two goals. The visit to the San Siro may bring out some fight and taking the visitors with a +1 Asian handicap at 2.01 looks a fair bet.
