PREVIEW
The layers were quick to react to Blackburn’s shock win at the Emirates on Saturday by pushing out Arsenal and shortening up Bayern Munich ahead of tonight’s Champions League last-16 first leg clash between the pair.

Arsene Wenger is feeling the pressure from the Arsenal fans as his charges are out of the title race, were knocked out of the League Cup by Bradford, and then the manager saw his under-strength team beaten at home by Championship opposition in the FA Cup. It was the first time a lower-division club had beaten Arsenal in the FA Cup since Wenger took over at the club.

The Champions League remains their only hope of silverware to end an eight-year trophy drought but, at around 38 on BETDAQ for the tournament outright, they are hardly fancied.

On the other hand, their opponents later, Bayern Munich, are third favourites at around 7 on BETDAQ and their form this year has been scintillating.

The Germans have 57 points from 66 available in the Bundesliga – which is a record – they’ve won ten of their 11 away league games and have scored in their last 38 matches. Last year’s Champions League runners-up have also kept clean sheets in their last six matches and Manuel Neuer has conceded just one away league this campaign.

They lost 1-0 on their previous visit to the Gunners but much has changed in the eight years since they last met. Arsenal look a team in decline while Bayern have the squad – and an incoming manager in Pep Guardiola – to become the continent’s dominant team.

With their backline proving almost impossible to breach at the moment and an array of attacking talent to go with it, the visitors looks a knocking bet at around 2.04 on BETDAQ to win and dump more misery on Wenger and his men.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Bayern Munich at around 2.04 on BETDAQ: 4 points

Monday: +1.88 points
FEBRUARY RETURN TO DATE: -15.68 points
