SHAMROCK WINNING NAP: SHAMROCK landed his THIRD WEEKEND WINNING NAP from the last four when Mallowney (WON EVENS) bolted home at Naas yesterday.

A pleasing day at the office yesterday when Mallowney landed the nap (EVENS) and the next best Modem ran well in second at 11/2.

Mallowney again ran out an impressive winner at Naas. However, he will not be Cheltenham bound for the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Trainer Tim Doyle said after the race: “It was very similar to the way he won the Dan Moore. Davy thinks he’s getting more relaxed. We’ll stick to our plan and he’ll probably go to Fairyhouse for the Normans Grove and Punchestown (Champion Chase) after that.”

Yesterday’s race was sadly marred by the fatal fall of Moscow Mannon who was throwing down a challenge before falling at the last.

There is no Irish racing this week until Thurles on Thursday.
