PUNCHESTOWN: Gets the show back on the road in Ireland today. SHAMROCK’s NAP runs in the 2.20.

Big fields and testing ground are the order of the day at Punchestown this afternoon.

I’m not sure I can give too many chances in the maiden hurdle at 2.20 but one that certainly catches the eye is the Jessica Harrington trained Operating who makes his hurdling debut.

He won a bumper here when last seen 175 days ago and looks the value alternative to the odds-on Clonbanan Lad who flopped in the Betchronicle.com Champion I.N.H. Flat Race (Grade 1) here. He finished further behind in that race than Fickle Fortune, my costly nap on Monday, who could only finish second when dropped in class.

I don’t see that there’s too much to choose between the market principals so, as always, BETDAQ prices dictate and I’d rather be on Operating here.

My colleague DAQMAN has found an angle into the 3.25 with a rare Irish nap in Last Time D’albain whose price is holding firm on BETDAQ.
