HEAVY GOING AT CORK: Relatively small fields on the forecast heavy ground at Cork this afternoon.

There’s few standout bets on the Saturday card at Cork and it’s essential to have a horse that can plough through the mud.

Investmentsuccess looks the bet on the card in the McCarthy Insurance Group Maiden Hurdle at 1.45pm.

Whilst his impressive success last season in a Fairyhouse bumper came on good to yielding ground he had previously shown that heavy ground wasn’t a problem when a promising third here at Cork.

He started odds-on for his hurdling debut at Naas and at face value was a little disappointing back in fifth but he travelled well for much of the race and the combination of that experience together with the three furlong drop back in trip makes him worthy of support here.

The obvious danger is the Dermot Weld trained Show Court who makes his hurdling debut. He won twice on the flat and shouldn’t be troubled by the ground.

There’s been plenty of support this morning for Vent De La Cote who shaped quite well when fifth at Naas last time out.
