TESTING CONDITIONS AT GOWRAN: They race at Gowran Park today but only just. The course needed to pass an inspection and the going is heavy with further rain forecast.
Ability to handle testing ground will be the paramount consideration for punters at Gowran Park today.
Radanpour looks the best bet on the card in the Goresbridge Rated Race at 2.30. He only faces two rivals and has already beaten one of them – Jacobean.
The Dermot Weld trained Radanpour made a winning debut at Tipperary last month and had Jacobean 2 1/4 lengths back in third. I see no reason why that form should not be upheld, particularly with Radanpour on 3lb better terms and likely to improve significantly from that debut effort. The ground was soft that day and although more testing today shouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience.
The field is made up by King Christophe who is the most experienced runner in the field and he proved he could handle soft conditions with a runaway win in another three horse race at Limerick. This looks tougher opposition for him today though.
Radanpour looks quite generously priced up by the BETDAQ layers – if you’re lucky you might be able to grab some even money.
