TWO FROM TWO FOR SHAMROCK: SHAMROCK completed a short price double on Saturday when his only two bets won. NAP: KITTEN ROCK WON 4/7 and NEXT BEST: CHAMPAGNE FEVER WON 8/15.

Short prices admittedly but I completed the double yesterday with a winning NAP and NEXT BEST.

We may well have had some good fortune in the Red Mills Trial Hurdle with Kitten Rock who was being pestered by Abbyssial who was possibly traveling the better before capsizing two out.

Champagne Fever didn’t have to break sweat for his win in the Mills Chase at Gowran and is now Cheltenham bound for the fourth successive season.

Winning trainer Willie Mullins said: “He jumped brilliantly and just fiddled the last but that was just Paul being careful as he had the race won. I said to Paul beforehand don’t make it if you can. I’m just happy to be going to Cheltenham on a positive note, and I’d imagine he will either run in the Ryanair or the Queen Mother.”

There are three Grade 2 races on the Sunday card at Navan:

2:15 Ladbrokes Ireland Boyne Hurdle (Grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 2m 5f, 8 runners)

Willie Mullins has three of the eight runners but possibly not the winner. I like chances of Dedigout for Tony Martin. This is very much his grade – he has twice won at Grade 2 level including last time out in the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park where he just got the better of Monksland in one of the finishes of the season. He holds the Mullins-trained pair Briar Hill and Zaidpour on that form and I except the form to be upheld over the shorter trip.

3:20 Flyingbolt Novice Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 2m 1f, 5 runners)

It’s a Grade 2 WITHOUT a Willie Mullins runner shock !!! Enda Bolger’s Gilgamboa was last of three to Un De Sceaux at Leopardstown in the Grade 1 Arkle but was by no means disgraced and given the lofty ambitions and potential of the winner it’s hard to crab that form. He had previously romped home in a Grade 2 at Limerick by 24 lengths and can resume winning ways here.

3:55 Ten Up Novice Chase (Grade 2) (5yo+, Class 1, 3m, 6 runners)

This looks wide open. Apache Jack was gifted a win last time out when Gilt Shadow fell at the last. The Willie Mullins runner Urano won well at Limerick last time but I think will struggle at this level. His overall CV has been a layers dream and I’m again pressing the BETDAQ lay button on him.

SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Dedigout (2.15 Navan)
NEXT BEST: Gilgamboa (3.20 Navan)
LAY: Urano (3.55 Navan)
