LEOPARDSTOWN ON THURSDAY EVENING: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the seven race card on Thursday evening taking place on expected good to firm ground.
Timbuktu has been an expensive horse to follow to date having been a beaten favourite in all three of his starts. He looks set to go off favourite again tonight at Leopardstown in the REA Grimes Fillies Maiden at 7.20.
The Aidan O’Brien trained runner tries seven furlongs for the first time having finished only fifth over a mile here last week. He looked in need of the run and should go close tonight but has some ground to find on the filly Catalyst who finished second last week – just over three lengths in front of Timbuktu. I fully expect her to confirm that form.
Aidan O’Brien should have better luck in the opener with Minding who steps down to six furlongs having finished second to the potentially useful Tanaza.
